I just got HKS SSQV BOV at local shop, i want to know what the top screw does. I know they said it an adjusting screw but i'm not sure adjusting what? (i have an idea but not sure what to make of it). The problem is my friend (with the same car) order through prostreetonline and his SSQV BOV doesnt have that screw....... so is there something wrong with mine or his???? or there is a varieties of HKS SSQV out there... maybe one of us has a fake one. can anyone with HKS part knowledge help me clarify this anomoly.

I also check this search engine for it, and this member (16g-95GSX) has it for sale, and he weld his screw shut. is this wise?

I don't know the exact workings of a pull type BOV such as the HKS SSQ but in general the screw is to change the spring tesion in the bov which will determine how much boost it will hold before being pushed open by the pressurized intake air. Set loose the valve will open easier at low boost levels but be forced open at higher levels. Set tight the valve will surge a little at low levels of boost but hold shut at higher levels.
