I'm not quite sure how to describe the issue I'm having... but essentially i think its a problem with my clutch. You know in a manual transmission car when you depress the clutch and then release it the pedal is very very springy... sort of a different feel than the other two pedals? Well basically my car 'lost' that spring. Now I'm pretty pissed off because I had most of the clutch components replaced last summer (including master and slave cylinder) so I just don't know what it could be... I don't drive my car in the winter so how could my clutch alreayd where out after 6 months or so of use?

For additional info when I did the clutch change I did it at a Chrysler dealer (I have a 96 TSi AWD) and initally the 'spring' was there but faded away... quickly! ANY IDEA ON THE PROBLEM???

Thanks

So does the car feel the same, as in shifting and clutch engagement, ect?

my clutch was like that too when I got it replaced it was really soft but sprung right back into place now like 2 weeks later it feels the same as it did before i got it done kinda mushy harder to press down and does'nt spring back as fast. I figured it was just the fluid working its way back into the system.

Hey, I completely forgot the guy I bought my car from gave me the service manual and I looked up the symptoms.... basically its 75% likely to be problems with fluids and 25% likely to be a problem with the connecting fork. I'm going to the dealership tomorrow to have it checked out and will update you with a response... this "heavy clutch" symptom as they describe it is definately not normal.

Sounds like you just need to bleed your clutch line...

Ok just wanted to update you all on whats happening... basically I had all of the fluids bled today and every part associated with the clutch lubricated and still no progres (well a little), but basically the problem is in the clutch plate fork which is a $25 item to replace BUUUUUT you have to remove the tranny to get in there  which brings me to my next question... is anyone in the Toronto area, who is experienced in the field, willing to help me pull out the tranny and replace the clutch plate fork?

What's in it for you, you say? How about a set of 2" lowering springs from H&R and a cold case of beer.... any takers?
