So my T25 just bit the dust tonight...

I'm looking for a 12 second car here, and already have most supporting mods in place. I'm leaning towards an EVO III 16G turbocharger as a replacement, but was wondering if anyone had any other ideas that they would pass along, ie a 50 trim or FP turbo...

Any ideas/advice??

Much appreciated.

Bullseye has some pretty cheap turbos. I picked up their T04b v-trim and I've had great luck with it. They basically just take a normal Garret turbo and mount it to their custom steel turbine housing so you aren't buying a mutt or any other junk.

the only problem with goin to a mitsu turbo is the fitment. the oil and coolant lines are a little bit different but i see alot of people using them. the t25 is a garret turbo. that 16g will probably do it with supporting mods but look to spend a few dollars. i personally am going to use my t25 and get all supporting mods before i upgrade my turbo. but thats me.

I'd happily get rid of my T-25 for a fair amount.
Its perfect too.

But if your going for a 12 sec car...
The T-25 is NOT for you.
:p
I'd say drop the $ on the evoIII 16g and call it a day.
If your supporting mods are done, then I suggest you quit F!ing
around and get something big enough to get you there.
But not SO big as to be more pain than its worth.

Its all the bigger I would ever go on a car I planned to "drive" :D
my $.02

Alright... as I figured, I am going with the EVO 16G. Is it worth it to port it out and get the 34mm flapper on it as well?

evo will get you there. if you plan to go into 11s then you need an fp or bigger. Thats what I want is an fp red but they you need external wg setup so you have to spend even more cash. About the flapper. Its really up to you depending on how much boost you want to run. you may some boost creep with all other supporting mods if you plan to run lower boost(15 or so).

EVO3 16G or a T28 Killer or whatever they are called.

The t28 is a direct bolt on.

Any Mitsu based turbo (16G,20G, etc) is going to need some slight alterations to the coolant lines, some slight filing to the oil return line, and a new oil feed line, either stock 1G or from the filter housing.

i would personally not get the larger flapper. just port the hell out of the turbine inlet and wastegate outlet. The larger flapper has a tendency to blow open at higher boost pressures like you will want to run.

I love my evo III. It's a great first turbo upgrade.

my vote is for the MHI E3 16G, def port it, and couple it with ported exhaust mani or E3 mani and ported O2 housing. I love mine and the install is not bad at all, I went to SBR and they sold me everything i needed. get the oil feed line too.

doesn't matter what turbo you go with you're always going want bigger ;)
i still wish i had a fp green or even a fp30 series but stuff happens and sometimes u have to go for what's economical rather than what hauls more ass. The evo is a great turbo and surprisingly cheap.
