ok guys im puttin a new head gasket in and while im at it im going to clean my lifters to get ride of the damn lifter tick

.. so my ? is how do u know if their any good like i cant get mine to squeez to get the oil out and i know one of u pro's got to know how.. wut am i doin wrong?

Are you using a very small paper clip push down the hole to open up the internal valve?
On my 1g lifter the hole was so small I had to get a set of quilting needles from walmart. When the interal valve gets pushed down you should be able to pump the lifter up and down. Do this in a pool of cleaner then let it drain and dry. Then do it in a pool of oil, let that drain, then reinstall.

It will still come back. The only way to cure lifter tick is to replace them with 3g lifters with larger oil passages.
