is it possible to run the exhaust under rear instead of over on a fwd like i've seen on awd? sorry 91 talon tsi
I have recent experience with this issue. About a month ago I put a 2.5" mandrel homade exhaust on my 90' FWD Talon. I decided to go under the rear "axel". The first attempt I had the car up with jackstands on the body, and let the suspension free hang. I then built the exhaust underneath, this did not work. I ended up with about a half inch of clearance :p , so back up it went. This time I used my jackstands and weight of the car to put full load on the suspension, then cut apart the new exhaust and tried again. This time I held it about a half inch under the
"axel" and I clears fine, I have yet to try to pick the car up with a lift  I'm not sure how that's going to work, I'm pretty sure I can just pop off my rubber mounts and let it hang a bit. What can I say, it flows 1000 times better than stock and with my ebay muffler about $50 (already had bends).
