Stocker took a dump, So I decided to throw a 100 mile used 2100. I also ported my 14b and matched the manifold as well.

200+ miles of abuse so far(I could not resist hitting the gas) and its holding up strong. surprisingly, pedal feel is VERY close to stock, which is a very big plus.

Although the engangement point is a little more harsh, but its nothing to worry about really.

The car is a 90 FWD with turboback, 15lbs and intake.

What are the downsides of not breaking in the clutch for the recomended 500 mile period?

I have actually had the pleasure of driving nomiesvr4's car and actually like the stock like feel on engagment on the car. i have driven a 2600 and it feels like i am pushing a fridge with my foot! Very nice clutch. I wish us AWD guys could have something that nice.

2600 shouldn't feel too bad. I've driven 1 and played around with another that had close to stock feel.

as for your 2100, well, if your clutch was not broken in by the original owner properly, not much you can do about it now. If it was, you just need to take it easy for a few hundred city miles. The downside is that if you don't they will slip more easily. I've never experienced a bad one, so I only can say what I've been told by those who have.

2600 is not hard at all.. then again.. ive been driving 2600 equipped DSMs for a while.. its nothing too difficult though from what i can remember first driving it.. with street disc engaging is smooth.. puck disc might be a diff. experience..

2100 all the way , its easy on your leg and can handle all the power most of us will ever make. Drove my friends car with a 2600 , would not want to be stuck everyday in traffic with that
Follow the links in the thread. The ACT 2600 isn't heavy unless you hosed the adjustment

I've had my 2100 for about 8 months now. Still working fine. Must have NLTS about 40 times now with 20psi in my EVOIII and the tranny is still working ok too. Havn't had it slip at all from too much power or anything although I don't launch the car very much.
