Hi,
I'm also looking for a sideskirt. Actually, it's the part that's stuck on the driver door. Mine came off 1-2 days ago without me knowing. How much would it cost from you greenstreak? I suppose it'll be hard to get the color I need(silver) used.

Thanks that's what I need then. Also, out of the 6 studs that I presume attach the door cap to the door, only 2 of them remain stuck to the door. Do those come with the door cap? How are they attached anyway? Do I have to take the door internal panel off?

When you say studs, do you mean the little plastic clips? If so, you need to pull your two out, get 4 more (I don't remember them coming with my door cap, but I could be wrong), and then slide them all into the slots on the back of the door cap. It's possible you might not be able to reuse the two you already have, so it might not be bad to get a couple extra clips.

It's also a good idea to put automotive double sided tape along the edge of the cap. The only thing left is to line the clips up with the holes and push the cap into/onto the door.

Posting things for sale like this will get you banned in a hurry. One and only warning.-Greenstreak

You have a few options....

OEM from the dealer.
OEM from me at 25% less.
Ebay for reman or used parts
Parts traders on the various DSM boards.

At the risk of getting my ass chewed or banned, isn't this a little hypocrytical? I realize you're a supporting vendor, but being both a vendor AND the admin seems a little shady to me. I've noticed the board getting more and more "commercialized" lately and it's kinda bugging me. If he's not supposed to post something for sale that's fine, but if this guy is openly looking for one and he has one that he's willing to part with, wheres the harm? He didn't CREATE this post to sell his stuff, he's just trying to give a member a hand and save him a few bucks (I'd assume since I didn't see his origional post). Makes me wonder if he offered to help out a guy with a product that you DIDN'T sell if you'd be as hard on him... One warning and an instant ban? Seems a little harsh to me, kinda like you have a vested financial intest on people not offering parts to other members.

Seems like were a few steps away rom the classified section being for everything BUT what the supporting vendors offer.....

Just my .02 and I still love you greenstreak.

I seem to remember getting mine through Mitsubishi, MB696120 should be the right part number. They shouldn't cost more than 75 cents a piece. You can check with JNZ or any other online or local Mitsu dealer.

It should be a pretty standard clip, so you might be able to find one at a local auto store. If you can remove one of the remaining ones from the car, take it in and see if you can find a match.

LOL, it will not get you chewed out or banned.

I have been an admin/moderator here for far longer than I have been a vendor. I started on this board as a moderator and have moved up over the years and have only sponsored the site for the past 3 months maybe. I could see how it could be construed as shady, especially if I was a vendor before being an admin but I try not to let one screw up the other.

We have long had a zero tolerance policy of members not being able to post that they have parts for sale. It has become even more pronounced as of late with the new ownership and the new classifieds section. People that don't meet the criteria think they might as well just post their parts for sale on the regular board or in other threads. Being a vendor gives you a little more freedom (the vendor rules are free to browse to anyone) than being a regular member. As you can see here I mentioned more than one option and didn't quote any prices or crap on any of the options to bring him to me. I could care less and was just offering multiple options for finding these parts.

The board does seem commercialized as of late because it is. That is a decision the new owner made when he resurected DSMTalk. Much different than the old DSMtalk but better than non at all.

There is nothing stopping a member from PM'ing someone if they have a part that they would like to sell. I do it all the time and most are appreciative of the PM and there is no need to even mention in the middle of a thread.

I have no financial interest in people not offering products to other members. It is in the rules and I made the same statements, banned people just the same, and caught shit for it well before I sold things to DSMers.

When you buy the sideskirts or door caps it usually comes with the plastic clips as well. I just mention it so you don't worry about sourcing the clips in addition to a new body panel. They are available separately of course and the part number above does sound familiar.

You make a good point (several actually), and I'm well aware of your history with dsmtalk. Thanks for taking the time to address my concerns.

I didn't notice his thread count when I made that post, I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions so quickly....

I'll continue to keep you on your toes, making sure to think before I speak next time. ;)

LOL thread count, I meant post count.... You can tell my brain was only half there when I made that post... I re-read it this morning and it made me think of sheets... I guess it was my brain telling me it was time for bed. :)

Incase anyone missed it I thought I'd point iut out so you can all get a cute little chuckle at how retarded I get after not sleeping.

OK I'm done taking this THREAD off topic...
