my 14b died, so i picked up a ported, adn clipped big 16g, for $320
i have a 255, nt fpr as far as fuel goes

my car got broken into recently, and my safc II , and my pocketlogger was stolen.

i know i have to get a logger asap, but i should be fine with Base timing at 8* and about 14 psi, i would imagine, until i get one, i need a way to get to work.

what kind of gains will i get from this turbo, from reading it's about a 40-50hp jump, over the 14b.
i am really thinking about getting some 550's, ang throwing on a 2g mass, and callin it a day, and be done as far as mods go on this car. opinions?

i am also wondering if since this is a slower spooling turbo, will it hurt my 60 foot at the track?
but maybe i will stop breaking axels this way,
thanks

IMO, grabbing a 16g would make for a good upgrade, as long as you understand that it would mean keeping the boost low until you grab another safc/logger...I think with a 255pump, you should be fine for 14-15psi, but I wouldn't overdo it...

Considering a 16g still spools at around 2900-3100rpm at most, I really don't think you will see a very dramatic change at the track...You probably will only improve your 60ft considering you will be making much more power once all 4 wheels start moving and you take off

I hope you don't seriously think that...The big 16g flows at 550cfm compared to the 14b at 450cfm(or was it 405) There should be a very noticible difference.

I was referring to the 60ft times...He specified that he didn't want to see a large change in his 60ft, but I was assuring him he probably won't see a major change...I know what a 16g flows

You should be fine with a big 16g. On my GSX a few years ago I ran it with a stock fuel system for months at 15psi w/no problem

I wouldn't worry about "gains" until you get the bigger injectors (and the logger). You should also have a SAFC...550's and a 2G MAS are a good combination, but you'll need to make some adjustments with an AFC.

We ran a big 16g on a '90 FWD awhile back, zero supporting mods except a rewired stock pump, K&N, MBC @ 17psi, and an o2 dump - no AFC or anything. The car trapped 108mph on a slipping stock clutch and ran just fine.
