Just started 2g after rebuild, few issues, cels so on, Need Help!

:D I just started up my 97 GSX after a basic rebuild with BSEK, arp's and Mitsu MLS HG. First off the car is putting CEL's on for P0130 and P0141. They are 02 heater bank 1 sensor 1 and 2 malfunctions. I know sensor 1 is plugged in. I am not sure about senser 2. I noticed the wires just runs right up into the body. Could it be unplugged and if so where does it come out. Also now for some reason my turbo timer isnt functioning correctly. It is wired up to the E-brake and for some reason the E-brake light is on all the time dimly. Then when you pull it up, it gets brighter. But the turbo timer will stay on with it up or down. I checked the connection to the e-brake and it is good and the turbo timer worked correct before. We adjusted the e-brake yesterday. Is it possible it is riding up. That is the only problem I can think of. Thanks for the help I need to get this thing running right. So when my LM-1 wideband comes on Wednesday I can start to tune. Thanks again.

Another thing I remember was this car has a 2.5" TBE with test pipe. The ground that should go to the exhaust/cat is no longer connected. I am going to try to find a way to connect it again. It was cut off by previous owner. Is that how the 02 sensors ensure they have a good ground or ground at all. Thanks

Also I will be working on the car for the rest of the day. With my laptop with me. So if anyone wants me to test or check something for some more info to find out the problems I can do this. Also if someone wants to see some pictures. I can take some and upload them. Again Thanks

I'm not too sure how it's hooked up to the e-brake, but if it isn't allowing the sensor to fully extend that may be the problem with the TT. Open it up and check to see if its travel is at all restricted.

Thanks, I actually got it to work. My real question is where does the wire go to for the rear o2 sensor. I have a cel for both o2 sensors and I know sensor 1 in plugged in but I dont know about sensor 2. Anyone replaced it before. Thanks

Should be under your drivers side seat. You will have to pull the seat and possible peel back the carpet to see it. The test pipe will commonly through the 2nd CEL, Mine did. Its a quick fix, just wrap it in foil and let i hang under the car. Plug hole with 18mm oil drain plug.

Ok thanks for the help. Will the car run fine with the 2nd o2 sensor basically removed. Also I know the front o2 sensor is plugged in so should I just replace it. Is there a way to test them. Thanks again.

I did some research and found out that the rear 02 only tells if you have a cat or not. So I understand how you can just remove it. I think I will build the bypass setup, with the directions from vfaq. I think I will just replace the front o2 sensor cause I have a cel for it also.
