There is a custom button on the left and they will make one for the measurements you give them..Some of the honda kits are rivoted and bonded in..I bet you could cut a honda sized hole and fit it in to save money instead of buying a custom one..The site does say it will do a group discount..I think it looks cool as well..

Hmm general question and figured id ask in this thread because its been goin for a while. how much weight should i be able to get outa my 1g without ripping out the back seat? i plan on getting race seats and a carbon hood and what not, just how much do you guys think i can get rid of, while keeping the car somewhat sane. and most of my sound deadening is already gone.

Hopper, in the beginning of the thread theres a whole slew of idea's on what to remove to save weight. Most of the people in here have dropped around 400-600lbs probably.

on another note, why wouldnt you just take out the sunroof, weld in some sheetmetal, and do the body work to make it flush, and then paint it? $450 for a "custom" peice of carbon fiber seems a little extreme.

i had thought about welding some sheetmetal in place of the sunroof, but that'll probably be last...

with all these gutted car in here, anyone using it as a daily driver..? :D

The stuff im going to sudjest requires money but it seems like your all forgeting some rotational mass that can be removed and helps more than dead weight. I assme the full AC is gone, you cold use smaller lighter fans, lighter wheel rotors, lighter flywheel, solid alumenum drive shaft, fuel cell, an alumenum bumper bracket kit. drip your whole dash off and use one sheet of alumenum to mount the guages in.

And if you want to go a little more extream for a little less money, take a hole saw to the car, any part that doesn't look like it's structualy very important or going to be stressed take the hole saw to it. It shouldn't hurt the car much at all since it's holes, what it will do is incress the load on the serounding metal.

You could also sand the paint and some metal off inside the car. I think Diamondstarmotorsports did this to there 14b powered car that ran 11's. You could also remove any lights and or wireing harness's no longer needed.

Just think "what DONT i need to race on a track" and remove it.

With a 205-55-16 tire, a swirl wheel is about 42 lbs....This came off a list on another board....

Is there a trick to get the rear wheel sensors out. I was trying for about 2 hours the other day and all i could do was rip out the black cover and wires off of it. Then it seems like the metal sensor is stuck in there. But i did get all of the wires and brackets off. And the rest of the ABS harness out.

Any more progress out there on your guys cars???
