Well see this thread for my previous experience this weekend...http://www.dsmtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1336607#post1336607

Worked on the car for 10 hours today. Got the new water pump, headgasket, removed my lower honey comb, got my Air can hacked and everything was hooked back up and ready for timing.

Everything was going great, We had all the timing right and she was ready to fire. First start up I heard a weird noise, I didnt think much of it cause it wasnt too loud. We checked it all over, fired her again and this time I knew it was something. It was only fired for a sdpan of 1 second both times.

We turned the crank by hand and it would stop. Then i knew the Valves hit the pistons and she was down for the count.

Heres the scene of the crime on a day that was going awesome and had planned on installing my new N1.

Number 2 exhaust valve is demolished :(

Will i loose compression in these gouges to all the pistons (especially bad in number 2).

Ripped apart...

Getting stored outside in the cold

My head is getting sent out tomorrow to some guy in town here who apparently is good at it. New valves where ever they are needed, pressure tested, and cleaned.

Hopefully i can have her back with in a week, If all goes well unliek today. Damn, Damn, Damn :(

I have done that!! It friggin' sucks ass to do the job all over again!!

Good luck with the motor afterwards. The gouge in the piston could cause problems in the long run. It is more prone to detonation due to the sharp parts in the piston top. And if it detonates, you are looking at piston bits in your oil pan! YUMMY!!

Shouldn't have said anything about being lucky man. I'm tellin ya, lol Seriously, sorry about your luck, but at least this is a chance to get some headwork done if you wanted. Mild headwork and some nice valves, possibly an upgraded valvetrain for cams if you have those in your future.

The reason....was my buddy forgot to put this washer on the crank sprocket. It moved forward and damn she blew. We did turn it my hand 5 rotations and everyhting looked good.... :(

I didn't see this post when I responded in your other thread. Man, that totally sucks. Hopefully you and your friend know what happened so it doesn't rear its ugly head again. Keep up the spirits, you'll have it back on the road soon.
