I have a 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS, and something is wrong with either the clutch or the drive axle. When I release the clutch, the RPMs climb but I don't really go anywhere, the car can still move but barely. Also it doesn't stall out when I'm in gear and I release the clutch without pressing the gas, and I know thats not normal. A buddy of mine had the same problem with not stalling out when in gear with his Geo Metro. Turns out his drive axle came off. HELP!!!! :(

I would say your clutch is gone. Do you smell a really weird smell? If the car still move but barely, i would say your drive axel is still good. If you know how, check your clutch and see if its trashed(which i bet it will be.)
