We'll i have a 1 gen ESi talon, but i dont have power anything, besides power steering, woot woot. i have roll up windows, clothe seats, but manual trans. we'll he said that in the 2 gens that there is no such thing as a 1.8 liter? there all 2.0 liters. The DL talons have 1.8 liters in them.

yeah, in the 1g's the base(which is RS in 2g's) eclipse and and DL talon have 1.8's, and the gs/esi have the 4g63n/t. while the 2g's RS/GS and DL/ESi are the same 420a.

what have you topped the rs out at? when i first got my car it was like 119 or 120, but now its tired out so she huff and puffs to push 110 to 115, HAHA
Never tried 'topping' the RS out, although I did 100 miles/hr...Anything faster than that, I'd be too scared because once the brakes are applied, [stock RS brakes w/ drums] ARE DANNNNNNGEROUS!!!!!! too much shake and then you have to re-adjust the back drums...lol :p

man i had my 95 gs with intake, header, exhaust, ported jeep throttle body, ported intake mannifold, afx underdrive pulley, full suspension, short shifter, and i still couldn't beat my boss kid stock 2001 325i.At my best he would still beat me by 2 cars.I'm not saying you didn't beat him, just hard to believe.I took my gs to 125. still had more in her, just thought that was fast enough for me.RS had rear drums,no rear sway bar, less sound dampening,no 5 way adjustable driver seat.no rear windshield wiper,no rear power antenna, and some even had roll up windows.ther a few things i'm missing but can't remember right now.

there is absolutly no way that guy in the bmw( ) was racing....my friends got an xi and those things are pretty quick...and after owning a 96 eclipse gs for 3 years and adding as many possible mods to the engine as it could tolerate, i quit because they are still very slow (damn neon engine!!)....the stock talon tsi i just got is pretty quick but i dont know if that would even beat the 325 xi...
....are you sure you werent playing need for speed?

Like I said.
Perhaps he was NOT racing...
Yes he was an OLD MAN.
Perhaps it was AUTOMATIC...

get your click back and read thoroughlly ...

I just posted, because I felt like sharing. That's it. You guys are right. Neon engines are slowwwwwwwwwww. The crankwalk is increadible. The timing absolutely flawless. I love it when timing belts break! I love rebuilding my engines, my transmission is so sticky...That's why we hold the 'Diamond Motors' logo....Is that what you guys wanted to hear? Well I said it...lol :p

Well hey you 2.0 n/a guys don't take as much crap as us 1.8 owners. ;)

But anyway the way I see it if you're happy about it that's really what matters.

Lol, need for speed. when guys hit about 50years old they go through a phase, my friends dad just recently shaved his head and started wearking biker clothes and grew a beard even though he drives a 95 altima, just saying old guys go through a phase, and yea i know 1.8liter guys take more crap but hey you bought it so deal with it, i actually got my NT for free, a backyard hand me down and i have gotten it to tun decently, ive got about 30g saved so im takin that 30g and buyin a broken down TSi (eventually) and building the motor, now i can be a part of the family...Right?! lol

I actually used to own a 2000 BMW 323i personally imported from germany with american specs (used to live there and bought one before going back to the states) and theyre quick, not as fast as say an M3 but quick none the less, the RS would never catch up to me no matter how you launched it or what rpm you shifted at.

when i race i never look at the rpm gauge i listen to the motor, the motor does ALL the talkin.
