Ok i i just got my new 92 TSI and i raced my friend and 3 times in a row my wipers will activate during my 1-2 shift.
The knob actually drops down one notch each time. to the best of my knowledge i didnt hit anything but this si just wierd. I doubt anyone else has this problem, maybe i just gotta get used to it but i better not have this problem much longer its embarassing.

Welcome to the world of having power. This is a common occurence when doing your 1-2 shift in a DSM with some decent power and a good shifting trans. Embarrassing? Not quite. It's a good thing

its already AWD.
if it continues to do that ima hafta rubber band it up there so it dosnt keep clicking itself down. The car was bought for the purpose of drag racing and this bugs me now.

do you get wheel hop? how does it go down on AWD? Maybe you need to replace the arm.
It happens to due to hard shifting...it's VERY common and NOT a problem.

If the car was bought for straight up drag racing, rip those sum bitch wipers off!

There's a few videos around of hard-launching dsms, and their wipers are flopping around. Just think: you have enough power that the sheer force of a shift will cause a stalk on the steering column to move a whole spot.

My bumper is held together with zip ties. I don't think a rubber band to hold the wiper stalk in place is all that bad.

ok well now at least im assured its not an electrical problem.
the car shouldnt have THAT much power its running just above 12psi with stock turbo and exhaust.
I do shift extremly hard in the car though and thats why i bought this one because it already had a shep trans stage 4 installed. On my 350z i was on my 4th tranny and Nissan wouldnt cover it anymore so i quit racing that in favor of something less likely to screw me over in repairs.

LOL So you bought a DSM? You may get cheaper parts, but you just have to buy them more often. LOL

haha i really dont care, the cost of a used DSM equaled that of a new transmission for the 350z. And im on my 4th trans so yea im not about to do that. And cmon, everyone knows turbo cars have more fun.

Yep, too bad you had to learn the hard way. ;) :D

This is the first I've heard of this problem  Must be true though by the replies. I'm wish to have about 325 awhp this summer, I hope my 5-speed does not do it :(
