yeah, when i had that problem a while ago when i would go 55 and up steering wheel would shake. my wheels were imbalanced. i balanced them now it drives real smooth i did it myself but if you took it to a wheel shop it might be 15 bucks. when your braking and it shakes it might be that your rotors are warped

id say rotors and or wheel alignment they could get f'd up in a couple weeks..just double check..

If it only shakes while you are braking, you have warped rotors. Take them off and get them turned at a shop. It only cost ~$20 per rotor.

An unbalanced tire would cause vibration all the time and would get worse at higher speeds.

Do you remember going over any pot holes??? If so one or both of the belts in the front tires may have shifted run your hand over the outer edge of the tire you may or may not feel it sometimes you can see it if it's bad enough.

Also look to see if your balancers have shifted as well they are the little clips that look like lead weights on the edge of the rims it may be a dirty spot next to that clip that may indicate that it has shifted or your tire man did not clip it on tightly the last time your tire/tires were changed.

Also see if you can shake your tires/wheels in your driveway by hand just grab the top of em and if they give you a lot of play take it to the shop.

dont forget to check one last thing.... MOTOR MOUNTS. Any cracked or damaged motor mounts can give you the same issues. I had the same problem too, checked everything and when i got to it; it was the mounts. So I replaced all 4 mounts with prothane units and now no more shaking problems.

Come on guys we all know this one..... Check the inner and outer tie-rods, aside from checking for warped rotors.

It wouldnt hurt to get new tie rod ends anyways. They are cheap and easy to replace. I recently replaced both of mine (slight play) and it got rid of some of the slop I had in my steering.

Anyways, its either warped rotors or tie rod ends.

Just had the same problem on my 1g. Outer tie rod end was worn out. Easy cheap fix. If you take some measurements before you remove your old one, you can get the alignment close enough when you install the new one so you don't chew your tire off on the way to the allignment shop.
