Multiple codes

I just tested my car using an analog voltmeter. From a different useful thread it tells my I have 4 bad sensors:

1) Intake Air Temperature Sensor

2) Throttle Position Sensor

3) Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

4) Barometric Pressure Sensor

Could it be possible all of these can go bad and my car still operate?

I have been having trouble starting my car for a while now. Takes me sometimes 20 times turning the key before it actually turns on. It usually idles weird also and dies out at times. And today in the morning it went really crazy on me. . . .The rpm needle was jumping around when I wasnt't accelarating, almost at zero (100) when I was stopped in neutral or if I pressed on the clutch, and when I was accelarating it was normal. What does this all mean?

You know i have had some simular problems with my DSM also. My car shows codes for the Barometric pressure sensor and the TPS. I have a 90 Turbo Laser with a 91 model motor. I did all of the retrofitting, 91 computor, switched the wires on the ecu harness and the 91 controll module. I have used my multimeter on the MAF sensor and the TPS and they both fell into specs from what my handbook said. I had alot of people tell me that its a ground problem from when i put the newer motor in. Try that,if you have been working on the car and took one off somewhere that could possible do the problem. If not try getting a good used MAF sensor. I bought 2 more for mine and the codes still shows. Needless to say mine is a jackstand bandit until I get this problem fixed. Any other information other than what little i gave you please let me know.

Buying all the parts I need that threw those codes. So lets see what good that does. Once the replacements are in and I try it out I will update then. But I am unsure of the whole ground thing, b/c the car was fine for the most part and I havent messed with anything at all. So this is pretty strange. How many grounds are there? And do some of them come loose after awhile?

Your starting promblem is related to the coolant temp sensor. Replace the sensor with a known good unit. Hook your car up to a scanner or logger and reset the codes. Some of the other codes could be from a bad MAF except for TPS. You could be seeing stored codes if some one tried running the car while the MAF was unplugged.

Ok, does unhooking the battery from the car reset the codes? I heard that once you do that they are all reset. So I was going to replace all the sensors then unhook the battery, hoping NOT to see the CE light on.

Yes, that clears the ECU memory including any stored codes.

Pulling the "room" fuse will also erase the codes as will unpluging the smallest of the three connectors to the ECU.

Steve
What or which is the "room" fuse? Where do i find it?

Just finished putting in the MAF, TPS, and an ISC. I was going to put on the Engine Temp Sensor but wasn't sure which one throws the code that i got. Does anyone know which one for sure?
