I recently helped a friend rebuild his mostly stock 95GSX with a 2.3L stroker kit. Car is actually all stock except for DSMlink, and a FP BigT28. Before the stroker the T28 was ok as far as lag, but still took about 10 seconds of power braking to get it to build 18psi of the line. And it felt weak off idle till 3000rpm. Now with the stroker it's a world of difference. Powerbrakes to 18psi in 3 to 4 seconds, and pulls with a lot more torque off idle specially above 2000rpm. We installed HKS 264/272 cams, and I felt a little loss of low end, but not much. IMO this upgrade is one of the best mods for an auto dsm. It makes it a lot of fun to drive, and an awsome daily driver.

I'm currently doing this with my car as well. PTE 50 trim, 2g head, magnus intake and crower Stage 2 cams. My setup was just too laggy untill 4000rpm. That was on a stock TC, and stock intake mnifold as well. I'm also upgrading to a IPT 4k restalled. I hope the stroker helps cause the 2.0 was way to weak down low for the auto.

Thanks. I'm almost done. Engine is done, and so is the tranny. Just have to put them back in the car now. It's amazing how perfect the stroker crank fits a 7 bolt block. It should of came like this from the factory.

It really doesn't cost that much to get a stroker kit. Close to $2k. Sure it's not cheap, but not bad considering everything it comes with.

Here's some pics:

did i read correctly that you spent 2k on the parts? i really would like a list of what that included. im about 30 minutes from buschurs, they have a guy across the street from them( i think his name is jackson) that sells the crank and rods for a stroker for like 450 bucks. i know you need all new bearings and gaskets(400 tops) possible new pistons (around 400) that makes up about 1250$ i havnt done a stroker yet, but im slowly being talked into by a friend of mine who has and he gave me a total of about the 1250 i mentioned. what am i missing? i dont want to f*@k this up when i do my own.

I got the price wrong. I actually got the slowboy kit with eagle rods, wiseco pistons, and bearings for $1175.

10 seconds? surprised he didn't need a new trans.
Nano must of had his mind on a few things at once. Maybe 4 seconds to reach full boost on the T28 and now it will reach full boost somewhere between 2-3 seconds. That is a guess, I have not timed it or anything.

Last summer with your stock SMIC it got to 10psi fairly quickly, but we'd sit for what felt like for ever waiting for it to reach 18psi. I powerbraked for 10 to 12 seconds many times with my laggy 50 trim, and never had a problem. This was with an upgraded cooler though. I'd say you would have to powerbrake for over 20 seconds to really get the fluid up there. It also depends if your holding 2800rpm with 10psi, or holding 25psi at 4000rpm.
