Crank pully \ Dampener apart, fix or replace?

Crank pully \ dampener \ alt-pully came apart..(misuse of 3 jaw puller)..LOL..

Can I just peice this back together or is it just wise to replace it with Mitsu part?

I'm assuming you have a 420a. I would replace it with an underdrive pulley from either unorthodox racing or an afx unit from howell. The stocker weighs a lot and you can get a little power from this mod.

Don't the underdrive pulley's cause wear on the bottom end faster than stock??? Or is that just an unsubstantiated rumor??

If theyre undampened they can, adds vibration. I wouldnt repeice that one together could blow apart and be dissasterous.

OK, I thought so...Anyone have any luck with Aftermarket Dorman ones?? Rockauto has them for $50...

go to the junkyard and get one there cheap as crap. They do come apart on occasion when they get old anyways.

Shoot I know, but I am limited in time..>Between kids, wife, house and everything else breakin around me, I just like to click and have Brown show up at my door...I work 11 - 8 most every day so I usually work on this stuff when everything is already closed...Uggh....

I just ordered the Dorman from Rockauto along with an alt belt and pwr steering belt.....If it's junk, I'll send it back...

Anyone know best play to aquire misc bolts for crank pulley and head???

It won't cause any more vibrations than a stock pulley unless it is warped or out of round or something. 420A's don't have a harmonic balancer/ dampner. Lot's of people have run them for years without issue.

FYI - Harmonic damper is integrated into the crank pully..That's what the rubber surround is that's in between the alt \ ac \ PS pulleys...

My bad, didn't mean the damper part. It doesn't have the balancer. But in all actuality, I've had mine on for a couple years and it actually ran smoother. Like I said, lots of people run them without issue.

Thanks Roman...I have the Dorman "OEM" spec one coming...If it looks cheap, I'll return it even before it goes on...Then maybe I'll consider an under drive... Thanks for the input...
