so, this morning i raced a black GTO with a vanity plate saying "PERKINS", i drive a 1992 6/4 DSM. he had a nice launch, i did a nice easy one. i short shifted 2nd @ like 5000 rpm's, and besides the 1/4 car jump he got at the launch, we were side by side. 3rd and 4th were the shit cause i was pulling hard and he knew it and gave up. i hope i get another chance to run him cause with a real AWD launch he has no chance.

But you should have went all out, especially since your AWD. :cool:
 
i may be racing a guy that owns a new GTO when i get back to america. when i was down in december he was talking shit about how his 400 hp could not be beat... Don't get me wrong, he is a nice guy but he definitely needs a reality check on that car...

and hopefully i will have my AWD by then... :) (if not i will just have to put a clutch, flywheel and LSD in my FWD and smoke him anyway.)

btw, he is an auto. (although on the GTO maybe this is better for drag racing?)

The 05-06 LS2 GTO's are hampered by excessive torque managment in the ECU program, the A4's especially and also they pull timing bad if air inlet temp is above 85~. They *should* out of the box be a lot faster than 04 LS1 but they are not unless you get a tune.

LS1 or LS2?
 
my friend raced one in my car 2 weekends ago, we barely pulled ahead of him from a 40mph roll.

my mods are 50 trim with supporting mods, except on stock exhuast, stock cat, and 13-14lbs of boost, running rich as hell(using the same tune i had for 19 psi)

yeah, either 2.5 or 3" test pipe and 3" cat-back and you would have clearly taken him. im assuming you also have upgraded or dp and O2 as well. sounds like a great sleeper though!

Haha for real man, but nice kill. My buddy has one, there not a slouch at all for stock. Just a bit heavy. I still think there better overall than the new charger.
 
I raced a guy in town with a supercharged GTO. I don't remember the year, I just know if was the older one with 350 hp before the s/c. It had fmic/s/c/exhuast. Dyno'd at 475 hp. I launched hard, around 5000 to 5500 rpms. He didn't have a chance of the line. His car couldn't get any traction. I had a good 6-7 car lengths before I let off around the middle of third. From a 40 mph roll...whole nother story. He jumped a good car length and kept pulling untill traffic came up.

I was running at around 15 psi on the 14b with EVO III Manifold, 3" DP, 3" exhuast (no cat), 2 1/2" o2 housing with dump, fmic, 2 1/2 ic pipes, and some other little things I can't remember.
