Ok well i ordered DSMLink on monday and darren at FFWD is the man! he answered all my qestions and i ordered the DSMLink 2.5 itself, and a 2G EPROM'ed Socketed ECU for 820 shipped i believe (525 for the link itself, 250 for the socketed ecu, and shipping) next i recieved everything by friday and it was packaged very good.

First thing i did was while waiting for it in the mail, i wired up my AEM UEGO gauge to the ecu to log it with the Link, then once the stuff was in i wired in my clutch cut wire.

After some basic tuning, and reading the manual 2-3 times front to back before i even recieved it helped all, the car idled great and mid cruise is good too. Setting up the Link is so stright forward and im very happy with it! WOT tuning is very fun! logging knock on a 2G, watching IDC's, watching my UEGO logged! and so on...

I have never launched my car harder than now with the 2 step, just the feeling of being at a dead stop and nailing the throttle then it cuts out at 5k and builds almost 2-3psi with a 50 trim, then dumping the clutch and feeling the wheels cut loose for a split second, next no-lift-to-shift is even more amazing, from second to third i was nervous on JUST pushing the clutch in to shift, i did it and inbetween shifts i heard one pop (the lowerd rev limiter for) and that was it, the best part was going from 20 psi in 2nd gear to 18psi INSTANTLY in 3rd...

ANYONE THINKING ABOUT GETTING THE LINK, DO IT AND DONT LOOK BACK!

how did you go about the cas wire switch? Where did you do this at? ECU or the cas itself?

is there supposed to be an update on the 1g DSMLink to give more features similar to the 2g Link?
What features would this be? I have been running my 1G DSMlink for over a year and it's irreplacable. Pick one up. The only advantage IMO that the 2G DSMlink has over the 1G is the higher sample rate, but again, that's because of the 2G ECU. I still think the 2G version sucks since they don't have a memory board like us 1Gers......yet. :p Don't send me hate mail. :)

Good to hear yours is working great. ;)

memery board arent needed, i have all my setting save on file that was saved if i ever loose battery power for some reason which never happens, but just open a log and click copy to ECU and done!

next what CAS mod are you talking about? i did none of this just switched the plugs wires of the fireing order and on she went

15 minutes to install, very nice.

Does the DSMLink have an option to change which injectors you are running or does it have to be burned into the chip initially?
it is burned perminately for restarts (unplugging the battery on a 2G) but you can change ANYTIME the injectors size, deadtime, global, etc...just by a couple clicks of the mouse. the best part about the link, is hook it up and forget about it, all adjustments are made through the laptop not this chips in and out all the time BS :D

This is what I'm looking for, but the WOT wideband closed loop tracking the Maft Pro offers sure makes this a tough decision.

The keydiver chip in combo with the maft pro is about the same price as the dsmlink, but the link doesn't give you the capability to set an a/f ratio and let your wideband and the unit do all the work. The Maft also lacks the capability to monitor and log knock.

Such a hard choice...

who cares, if you can tune at all you can set it yourself its easy, idle cruise, mid, and WOT, next the link can moniter and log knock, and also widebannd and GM 3 bar :D

Yeah, but I don't want to have to retune due to temperature changes. To me, the only advantage of the link is almost complete control over the ecu as well as the knock logging. The MAFT Pro can do speed density (GM 3 bar, 3.5 bar or AEM 5 bar) as well as become a EBC so they both have great strong points.

DSMLink can do speed density you just need to have a device to change the signal to Hz, like the MAFT does in a 3" GM sensor mode...and weather changes dont make that much of a difference or so i have noticed any if at all. next the boost control capablilities is in the works for V3 which is slight cost to upgrade :D

Mangina i had the same choice as yourself a couple months back. I ended up goin with the link. When it came right down to it the maft pro is still going to be limited by the fact that it's a piggy back and will still have all the limitations that goes with that type of set up. The wbo2 tracking is a very nice feature and speed density is appealing but those 2 (really one as im not going to use speed density) just couldn't out weigh all the positives of dsmlink. IMHO link is the better choice.

I have link in my 90 AWD (race car), my 99 GST (driver) and got a good deal so ordered another one for my 2G GSX shell/project I just got. I love it and have NO regrets. My 99 had bad misfire due to the 6 bolt swap... bolted the link in, swapped the wires, put in my 660s (since it was programed for it and I needed them in the car) and started it up. 15-20 min or so its all done and runs perfect! Found another deal on a link setup, knowing id have my 2G GSX shell up and running within the next month figured its probably the best first mod. Especially TO ANYONE doing or whos done a 6 bolt swap.

How hard is it to save your settings into the laptop? I have not done any real tuning or fine adjustments yet (well since the motors only got 600 miles its not even seeing boost) but was curious since the time will come very soon.

Last thing I want to say, get DSMLink, you wont regret it.
