Stop bickering. Wow, this place has changed in the past few years (I had an old account before the forums went down). Negative :tree: for that.
98mitsgst - I've owned a couple turbo DSMs before getting my N/T I have now. It was probably the smartest thing I've done.. the reason was I moved into a different town and got a new full-time job where attendance is crucial, thus needing the reliability. Truth is though, any car can be an unreliable pile. My GST and GSX were mint and I truly think they would have never broken if I had just left them alone. It's a rarity but you could look for a 100% stock, unmolested, low-mile turbo DSM and simply keep up with the maintenance. If you think you'll still have a heavy foot then an N/T will be perfect, you can't really dish out abuse on a slow car

Just remember than even a Toyota/Honda can break down every day, keep an eye out for something that's really been treated well.
Congrats and good luck with the new baby
