Leaving engine internals aside does this seem like a good plan? Did I forget anything? Would anyone recommend a different brand or retailer? I am getting my financial aid in August and this is where it's going.

Wow... thats nice..
I wish i could drop that ALL in at once hahah... that is going to be a very nice set up..
That is how i would like it :)

a friend here in orlando has a Q45 t/b on his 2.3 stroker 2g. let me just tell you, that thing is as large as the OD of the upper intercooler lines!
his best time to date is only 11.2 at 123mph, but if doesnt get it into lows 10's he is going to be pretty upset.

nice.. :tree:

I don't think you need a Q45 throttle body with a turbo that "small" frankly. Also keep in mind that you are going to need a huge reducer to go from tiny 2.5" IC piping to the Q45tb. ;) Honestly, it's a lot of expense (for the fab, the rework of all the sensors & cables, etc)- I think your money would be better spent elsewhere. I'd spend the money to go to actuall stainless lines on the fuel & oil stuff, rather than cheap high pressure rubber. [shrug]

Do you mean hard lines for the fuel? Where can I get these/ how do I bend them? Would you suggest an accufab or something different? I can fabricate a 2.5-3.5" reducer made of aluminized steel. The only sensor on my T-body now is the idle switch. Just trying to get input on this so anything anybody thinks is welcome. Even if you think I'm a complete idiot and I'm doing it all wron let me know how you would do it.

Your spending financial aid on your car?? WTF?? Anyway, your not spending enough. I just dumped about 10g's under the hood in the last few months. :D

I'm with RippinGSX on this. You will hate yourself later down the road for spending financial aid $$$ on car parts :chair: You have failed to add "drivetrain" to the list which is another $3k easily. What about exhaust, suspension and Eprom ECU? Anyway...good luck!

Dsm link is nice, but a full standalone is way better and the gm mafs are touchy. I would look for a map set-up over the maf anyday. You can get a good Haltech e6X set-up for under a grand used. which is what you will pay for a dsmlink gm maf set-up. There is actually an aem ems on ebay now for 1k. either way, good luck. and a 90mm tb is stupid. a 1 g would suit you just fine. If your going to use that big of a tb at least run 3 inch ic pipe. I would personally run a 70 - 75mm tb so the air flow is the smoothest.

dsmlink 550
eprom ecu 250 - 300 socketed
gm maf 50 used
maf translator 200
still not having a standalone
stupid.

Disagree. DSMlink will be able to suffice more than enough for that setup.

The whole setup looks great.. it's your money but I agree with the other guys when they say don't spend it ALL on mods. Throwing $6k in performance parts will only lead to another $1k in broken parts ;)

Intake manifold $450, thanks for the info, nice looking product, except why wont anyone weld on ss hose barbs?

I would like to go full MAP but DSMlink needs a MAF as far as I know. DSMlink has a lot of users out there willing to help with tuning. Full stand-alone in my opinion is not worth the money. I would rather buy an EPROM burner, emulator and start writing my own code. DSMlink has made things simple, but still very tuneable.

Eprom ECU I have, there are mods my car has that aren't listed.

All drivetrain parts are going to wait until I have more money, I already have brand new axles up front from raxles.

The 3" aluminized pipe is my exhaust, I have another post about it on here. I am building a shorty exhaust that will stop behind the drivers seat with no cat (I live in a smog exemp zone).

What throttle bodies do you guys think are best? I am thinking cost effective and big, so anything around 2.5" should be good.

The eventual goal is around 550hp. That is after getting a 2.4L and some killer head parts.

The thing is I have an interest free school loan out already, so I could take the 6k the government gives me and either pay some of that off or get a good amount of spending cash.

I am really open to all suggestions so leave REASONS why each is better.
