I have a few questions about the installation of this unit. I haven't purcahsed it just yet. My question is, do you tap the RPM on the ECU or else where to log that. Also, do they supply you with all the neccessary wires or do you need to go out and buy those?

I've checked the installation manual online and they don't mention these answers.

Thanx

How did it go?

Are you able to use the datalogging utillity that they provide with it? Does it work like they say it does? Were you able to set it up and log the rpm's and tps along with A/f ratio. Did you have to buy anything additional stuff to make it work properly?

I will be purchasing this kit in the near future. It was a close tie between this and the Innocative LC-1 and XD-16 combo, but the fact that i had to buy additional stuff to use their datalogging software was a DEAL BREAKER.

If everything Zeitronix claims is true they have got a great product but just dont know how to promote it. I emailed their customer service with a question on Friday and they still haven't gotten back to me. They dont have a customer sevice number and a they have P.O. Box for a mailing address.

Where as, Innovative on the other hand has video tutorials, customer service, a forum the whole deal in case something doesnt go as planned.

I purchased the LCD with the ZT-2. I had the EGT, TPS and A/F logged onto the laptop. The program is easy to use but my laptop is pretty big, so I just ordered the PDA cable and I'l be using that to log instead of using my laptop. The software came from 'pocketlogger.com'.

The hardest part of te installation was getting the wires to go through the firewall and finding a nice clean route to the exhaust pipe. (BTW, it does not come with a O2 bung unless you specify. I went out and bought one a week prior and had it welded on and plugged it). After that, you need to extend the wires and solder it to your ECU for TPS and RPM. I had an extra EGT wire so I just plugged it to where my existing EGT probe and disconnected it from my gauge (Apparently, sharing the probe to 2 wires will result in one of them being off due to interferring noise). Then I conected the orange wire to the yellow to have the LCD show the TPS reading.

I may, in the future, buy the boost sensor and have that log as well.

Thanks for the Reply.

If you already have a pocketlogger datalogger, (the one that will detect knock on a 1G) they have an upgraded patch that will allow you to connect the wideband to the EGR_TEMP wire and log it.

If you use the "pocketlogger ZT-2" on a pocketlogger where do you hook the logger up to the ZT-2? via a hotsynce serial cable?

Almost every wideband has a "Wideband output" that give out a voltage between 0-5 volts in relation to the A/F Ratio. On the Zeitronix its the white wire (according to the install manual I have). A lot of people just plug this output into their dsmlink, or pocketlogger and start logging. They dont really need the third party datalogging software and have no plans of using it.

I would like to ditch the logger at some point. The only thing i use the logger for is to monitor knock. If the A/F ratio is 11.5:1, I know its not knocking.

So you have already used the software that looks like this

and you have no problem showing all the above fields correctly except for boost? I am in the same boat as you, I have an EGT that I would also like to display on my ZT-2. I am also interested in adding the the boost sensor to make the log complete.

zeitronix emailed me and responded back with answers to my questions. I got the feeling that they read this thread though. :p :)
