Granted, we were all giving the kid shit, but even he probably gave up and walked away by now. It was all good fun at first, but the crap between Asmo and Myk is downright childish. The "STOOPID NOOB" that started this thread at least let it go after a while (thank God).

Anyone that has actually been into DSMs and knows them inside and out knows DSMs ARE POS' and shouldn't be held on some kind of devine cloud as the gift from god some of you seem to think they are.

That said POSDSM and its -est counterpart are home to some of the fastest DSMs in the world. If youd like a list of why DSMs are huge Peices of shit, Id be glad to make one, but Im sure thats not neccicary.

I love DSMs; True love is all about recognizing somethings flaws, and embracing them. if you can honestly sit back and call your 4 year $22,000 investment a huge pile of shit, and mean it: thats love man...

PS: everyone needs to remove the sticks from their respective asses.

PPS: Myk is having my babies. It will be the uggliest litter you've ever seen.

HOLY SHIT!!!! WTF is going on. Please leave your internet bitch fighting to pm's if you really want to fight each other go ahead and swap numbers and find a place to meet. Oh and who ever said dsm's are shit, come on now, the 4g63 eclipse currently holds the record for the worlds fastest 4-banger and we have held it for a while. When you say there is alot of problems with a car that is 8-17 years old that is not shit that is just age. I have a 17 year old gsx and when something breaks it is just age not shit it is part of repairs. When is the last time you saw a built muscle car last for more than a year? Go to the track and watch those v-8's with blowers and see how much they catch on fire. :rolleyes: I am just 17 and you guys are acting immature, this is the reason I don't come here anymore and just go to dsmtuners.com there is so much misinformation on here it is unbelievable. We really don't need a flame war here it is just forums. How about this guys if you don't like the way someone acts or this website just leave! I tried to come here to help people out but it seems like people just hear what they want to. I have met alot of cool friends here on the net and alot of older guys have came over and helped me out at my house. Yes there has been people that have been assholes to me and I think it is funny when a 32 year old wants to whoop my ass. I live and breath my two cars and I love everything to do with them so when you come to a dsm website and tell us they are shit what do you expect? How many cars do you now that are 8-17 years old that havn't had a major problem? What other car can you pick up for 1500 dollars that is awd and turbo? We all now what we are getting in to but hell I love it. I put about 2000 dollars in my gsx and I smoke all those 30,000 dollar honda boys all day long. The way that dsm built our engines is just genious. So if our cars are pos and are the fastest 4 bangers ever made what does that make everything else? They have only been modding our cars for 14 years and do you know how much money and research it took to make a v-8 run 7's? Plus any muscle guy that says 4-bangers are slow doesn't understand, let me get this off of my chest the only reason there is v-8's that can run that fast is because of japan, we invented the fuel injection conversion kit and turbos v-8s use and if you take all that away you have a v-8 that can't do shit.

i have the holes for the pins on my cf hood but no pins. (i got it that way but it was free with the car) but ther was a forum about hood pins.

wow, I didn't think this thread could have possibly become dumber than it already was.

About dsm's being pos', maybe if you knew what you were doing, your car wouldn't break all the time, just my .02. :rolleyes: I had my 92' talon for 3 years and I beat the shit out of it, but it never broke down because I maintained it religously. My neighbor has had his 91' tsi awd for over 10 years now and it runs better now than it did when it was new all because he does mainanence. In reality dsm's are only as good as those who work on them.

And I only got it because there was a small peel in the clear on my hood, it was a smokin deal... end of story. Its also a Talon with a black roof. It matches fairly well. Making it a no brainer. Who wouldn't?

With nothing but a mixmatch of 1g and 2g parts. Some hard work... and DSMlink. Which I also didn't pay for. Since I work for a company that sells parts. IE Revived.
I still have most of the stock exhaust... used injectors I got machined to fit, that were from a Conquest... :rolleyes:

I've had more DSM's apart and back together than I can count.

:burnout: We need to talk about something else. Do you guys know tuners makes fun of this website constantly? Who else went to the shootout? Is there any moderators left? This should of been shut down since post 1. Any of you guys going to hub city that lives around mississippi? Someone told me they were supposed to be having some big car races down there. Let us all just get along and stop beating a dam horse, as long as you have more in your engine than your body I don't consider anybody a ricer. Lets get some pics going of the shootout that would be nice :D .

Ahhh, kids.

For the record my car never broke (aka blowing an engine), and I guarentee it is faster, and in better condition than everyone who posted after me saying DSMs are not POS'

First let me Qualify myself a bit.

1) I have no e-peen at all. non-existant
2) Im a mechanical engineer, returning to school to persue a masters (and eventual Ph.D.) in Physics
3) Ive worked on my car myslef since day 0, all parts bought and paid for with my own hard earned money. I got it over 6 years ago now. I wouldn't say I know the most about DSMs but Id say im in at least the top 10%.
4) I Built engines for a local DSM shop. None ever came back with any problems. Including a 550 WHP motor built in under 2 days.

All that was not meant to brag at all, just to let you know Im not some jack-off who got on the internet, read 3 NABR threads and started running my mouth. I know what Im doing basically.

The problems Im talking about have absolutly nothing to do with the age of the vehicle, but the design of it. Mostly the suspension. Its utter garbage. horrible. The Rear is fixable to the point of being "OK" with a lot of help (bushings, swaybars, Spherical end links, lots of welding), but the front is beyond repair. You can use a patchwork of parts (FWD hubs, Bushings etc etc) to make it better, but its still nothing compared to what it should be; even econo-box hondas from that period were light years ahead of DSM suspension

The block itslef is nearly flawlessly designed, with the minor exception of the balance shafts (bad idea period) and the stress fractures that tend to develop in the bottom right corner (about 4:30 if it were a clock) of #1, other than that, the block is great.

The head leaves a lot to be desired. The 2g was much much better, but the castings were still very poor (lots of pitting even around the combustion chamber sealing surface).

Then theres the lazy design factors... the engine is the wrong way, effectivly adding an extra shaft inside the transmission because they were too lazy (the japanese design team) to put the Brake booster (and hydraulic system) on the drivers side. The fact that no one should ever put any electrical component, let alone an alternator that close to the super hot exhaust, and directly below a part that WILL (and designers know this) leak some day. Just a lot of crap like that. Not even cost saving measures just plain old bad design.

Also currently a Saturn holds the title for fastest 4 cyl car, and they have for a while with the eco-tec. Dodge is in on it too with the fastest production bodied 4 cyl as of about 3-4 days ago (220 mph if you are wondering). So get the facts straight please.

you guys gotta learn to lighten up and laugh at yourselves more often. SRSLY

As for the site, like it's been said before... YOU PEOPLE DON'T GET IT! We love the cars, love working on them.. but THEY ARE GETTING TO BE OLD CARS!!! Of course shit is gonna go wrong with them. People that come on and try and debate that then with "Well mine has never broken down" That's great. But a majority of DSMs are gonna break down for some stupid reason or another... it's bound to happen. And you know what we do??? We fix it!!! OMG!!! Jesus Christ. Assmo, you just had a post about your starter going... it's just simple shit like that. We have just learned to expect and accept it and don't get our panties in a bunch when it happens. We know our DSM breaking down is not the end of the world, it's just a DSM being a DSM.
And yes, the same could be said for any type of car.

Why do I make a big deal about hood pins? Because. There have been many topics and they all usually come to the same conclusion. CF Hood with no pins = disaster waiting to happen. More times than not, the driver ends up with a smashed windshield at least. Ok, so it only cost you 150. What about your personal safety? I'd rather drill a couple holes in my hood to know it was secure and wouldn't cause problems down the road (literally) Or if you don't give a fuck about your own personal safety, what about everyone else on the road that does?

For those that want to fire back again with the "DSMs are only as good as the people who work on them" lilne... get over yourself. STupid routine shit is gonna go wrong with your car. Again, in most of our cases, THESE ARE 10+ YEAR OLD CARS!!! I thought someone was on the right track when they started talking about classsic cars and how the built ones don't stay running... that's kind of our point. It's not a site bashing DSMs. But nobody gets it because most people have some sort of e-Dick up their assholes.

1. This is, or was a thinly disguised WTB ad which I alone should ban you for.

2. Before you post anything read this board start to finish. Yes....all 8 billion posts. Hopefully through all of that 50% of the basic info will stick and you won't make DSMers look like idiots.

3. I couldn't bear to read everything here and only made it to page three but that was more than enough to see that this should be locked.
