Quick Question:

Don't really need A/C here in Montreal cool days, but if I cut the A/C belt, will I lose power steering or they have both different belts... JUST MAKING SURE BEFORE I START CUTTING AND CHOPPING...

They are different belts. The AC belt is closer to the firewall and the PS belt is more towards the front.

Wish I had a 'working' AC down here. Heat sucks... :(

So basically...

its the belt thats directly behind/underneath the timing belt case, and its the belt that is 1/2 the size of the PS belt...correct?

Awesome gallery you have BTW, Nice lookin ride for sure.

Its the belt that goes around the large ac compressor thats mounted on the back of the engine. I just removed that dead weight because I cut mine off years ago. Shaved 25 pounds dropping that off with the mounts too.

You're not paying attention to the answers people are giving you. Just take off the alt belt, loosen the ac tension pulley, then lower the pulley, take off the bracket and the belt together. Its 8 bolts in total should take less then an hour.

None of you are paying attention at all. HE HAS A 99 GS NON TURBO with the 420A motor. Xander - according to alldata your ac belt also drives your power steering oil pump. It also shows a pic of a seperate belt that goes to just your power steering pump. I am thinking though that one belt is for cars with factory ac and the other is for cars without factory ac. You said that you have two belts. No matter what on your engine you will also have a belt for you alt/water pump which would be the second belt that you are refering too. If you aonly have two total belts on your car then you should not remove your ac belt as it is also driving your power steering pump.

THE SMALLER BELT IS FOR YOUR ALTERNATOR
