Re: The build is finally done! pics inside...

It's all about keeping the bare minimum. No A/C, powersteering, MAF, winshield washer fluid tank, wiper motor, battery moved to the cross member (actually replaced with an Odyssey), moved the fans to the front of the radiator... Most vacuum hoses are removed. Only retained about 4 or 5 total. Those things alone clean up the engine bay a lot. I still have a lot more to do. Will probably gut the harness to remove wiring from sensors I have removed.

Completely forgot about that. Got rid of that last November when I bought the car.

Yeah, there's 7 months and tons of money in there. Hopefully I'll see the results I want with this setup.

Looks very nice, let us know what it does number wise. My car is going down for nearly 8 months this week (March 1 2007), I'm going to miss it...

Good luck with your build. I should have dyno and track numbers shortly.

Oh Don, it's ok, don't consider yourself one of his "leftovers". You're like, the head leftover.

Nah, I'd rather scare the shit out of you in the Talon :D

Re: The build is finally done! pics inside...

Very nice build looks first rate.I have about 1500 miles on my setup since got it running.Currently tuning at 20psi on pump 92 but just got snow injection system so might go a bit higher.
No track times till next year possibly some tazzo times only ran some so far at 1bar and untuned. It did 13.3 at 106mph with a 2.0 60ft. Not great but figure its easy low 12s now since tuning at 20psi.
These 3065s are a handful when you start running higher boost thru them. I can only
imagine what it will be like at 30 plus. I am already starting to think about better brakes as my current hawk hps and drilled rotors are not really stopping this thing even at 20psi. I have 2g brakes of course I doubt 1g would have a prayer to haul these monsters down.
And you might want to change your name to 10 second dsm or even 9 second dsm with a bit of spray! I am hoping for those numbers in my car with direct port going on next season.Stupid me should have drilled the holes in my jm fab when had it of now
have to remove it to drill and tap for the nozzles.Oh well have all winter to do that.

Very nice engine compartment..Very clean. Looking forward to seeing you run some numbers with that thing.

Re: The build is finally done! pics inside...

Thanks for the compliments man! I just got it running the other day and have been driving it around (taking it easy) for the past couple days. Running around 18-20 psi on the shitiest tune and it's already a monster. I currently still have my VPC/GCC and small injectors in it for the break in. I will be getting the AEM and 1000cc in probably next week and will take it down to get tuned by none other than Sean Ivey. I'm hoping to see some mid 10 second timeslips by the time the ECSO rolls around barring any unforseen problems. This winter, i'm either adding some spray or stepping up to a larger turbo, either gt40r or gt42r...haven't really decided yet. I'd love to see a 9 second timeslip on this turbo with spray...

I saw some threads about your setup...very nice! I'm sure that beast will put down some crazy numbers when it's all said and done. Good luck man!!

Re: The build is finally done! pics inside...

Man I would think you can do 9s on the fp3065 on spray and its plenty big enough for me on a mostly street car even with the 2.4 don't want to go bigger.I can downshift to spool up the 3065 of course if you are in the higher gear but going up thru the gears is not that great if you don't launch really high in rpm and keep the r's up. A 3052 would have made almost a bit better choice but with the 2.4 it pretty much spools the 3065 about the same as a 3052 on a 2.0.

I guess a guy has to decide how slow a spool and how much lag he can tolerate. The 3065 is about my max I think. It does hit hard and even at 20psi it feels very quick I need to do some more time runs and see where its at.It certainly feels like low 12s to 11s now.

Only other thing I maybe could have done different is the stage 3 crowers and the jm fab intake maybe hurt my around town bottom end a bit should have maybe stayed with stock intake and maybe gone down one level on cams but once its past 6000 its a pretty good rocket ride feels almost like nitrous shot up high.
And really shouldn't need to be in boost all the time around town anyway and not into autocrossing type stuff. On the highway it shines and you can really fly by most cars on the highway.

I would see what you can get with that 3065 before you go up more. But if you dont street the car much then go huge what the heck!

Thanks man.

I'll post updates as I get them. Probably going to the track this Friday on a conservative tune and low boost.
