Hello, I have a 98 Eclipse GS with the Mopar drive train. The AT will shift into reverse or drive ok, but when you accelerate it will not shift out of low. Shifter position doesn't matter, D, 1 or 2 it just stays in low. It was working fine one day, the next day it wasn't. Local independant shop says At control relay?

Any input would be appreciated!

more than likely your stuck in "limp mode". It happened to me when i installed my auto. I thought i was stuck in low gear, But your probably actually stuck in high gear. My problem was that i had the shift solenoid plug ins reversed. There was a shift solenoid on the front and rear(firewall side) of my tranny on my 94 talon. the plug ins interchange with eachother, and this put my car in limp mode. Hope this helps.

Pull the tranny codes from the OBD plug. I think there's a fuse for the a/t in the main fuse box so check that.

Check to see if you're actually stuck in 1st gear or if its 2nd because limp mode should definetely give either 2nd or 3rd gears and not 1st.

Chk fluid level and AFTER you retreive the troubles codes try disconnecting your battery for a minute and see if that changes anything.
