Hey everyone!

Well, ever since I had a timing-belt snap a few months ago, I've been driving without an oil pressure gauge. I would hook back up the stock gauge, but I'm not quite sure how it's normally wired-up, seeing how my buddy installed my aftermarket oil pressure gauge while I was doing other things to the car.

My gauge is a 0-100 psi Faze oil pressure gauge. It worked awsome before the incident occured...

When I rebuilt the head and put on a new timing belt I also decided to add an internal oil cooler. I hooked up the wire for the gauge like it was previously on the old oil senging unit, but it still doesn't work.

Anybody have any ideas?

If you want a quick fix, just reattach your stock gauge. Theres just a wire that slips onto the brass/bronze color sender on the back of the housing.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try some of this out.

And yes, it's an electrical oil pressure gauge. The wires are hooked up correctly. I was thinking maybe the gauges sending unit is no more good...

i have a similar problem (but i kept both gauges using a T fitting). I was told by someone on here that the electrical ones are weak up against vibrations. and thats what caused it. Im still screwing around with mine because at the most random times itll come on. Only at startup then after a bit of driving. Its gone  .

ive herd that too about electrical sender units. AMS has a line that u attach to the sender unit and the other to the source of ur oil pressure, so that way u can put the sender unit off to the side were it wont break due to vibrations. im sure u can go to the hardware store too and make ur own line i was thinking of experimenting with it sometime soon. autometer sending units arnt cheap!
