what i hate about it is now a lot of younger kids are watching it and now they are asking for lengths on street races.... whats the point? i tought the point of a race was to see who is faster not who can start closer to the finish line. I guess i just go about racing all wrong:chair:

I watched the episode tonight on my DVR, i recorded it. The description was supposed to be 1990 Ford Mustang vs. 1990 Nissan 240SX
My DVR does the same thing.....I kept looking at the truck trying to figure out if that was the 240 or the mustang ;)

It looks like they were in Topeka KS at heartland park a couple weeks ago did anyone here go see it?

I wish I had known, I might of went to see it.

I just think its sad. I have watched every episode and they are mostly mustangs. Yeah, one CRX that got his butt kicked by a mustang and broke an axle in the last race. I been just waiting to see a gsx on there. My friend ended up not going cause his wife had a baby, but boy I would love to see a gsx go on there and work over a mustang. I was arguing with all the guys in my autotech class, and yes they are all mustang fans, that a gsx fully modded and launched correctly could eat up a mustang, but thats my opinion. I love mitsubishi's. I am so sick of hearing them say, "but its all about displacement." Thats what i get for living in northern maine!:tat:

I've beat a 86 5.0 with a 1991 talon fwd with a stroker motor(non turbo).
He had a puck clutch and roller rocker arms as well as headers, a small overbore, and an aftermarket intake manifold.
Fuck fox bodys.

95% of that show involves mustangs, it's really getting pathetic. It would be great to see a really quick DSM go up on pink.

ya it would be nice to she a shep eclipse/talon on there. lol as far as mustang owners there is a guy that lives down the street from me. Has a new 5.0 motor in his fox every week, cuz he blows them up. My wifes srt-4 with stage 1 and a intake put like 6 cars on him from a 20 roll, and she was driving

That's awesome. Your wife races? :)

the thing i truely dispise about pinks is "giving lengths" thats not even racing. loosing is sadly, a part of racing. there should be no 5 lengths, let alonf 15 lengths, byt that time, your half way done the 1/4 mile.

when a dsm gets on that show, hed'shed better not get/give any lengths

You can give up lengths.
The real trick is to be good at sandbagging. With a boosted car it is very easy to lower you boost level for one run and raise it for another. As long as you are not lifting they can't prove anything. I would also pull the trick of having a bottle in the car, not using it and having a bargaining chip where I basically lose nothing for the next race.

I have never tried to apply because putting up my slip is not happening. I would put up a few thousnd dollars before the car because something could always go wrong.

Does pinks even allow AWD cars on the show? I dont think I have ever seen one. Did anyone catch the Pinks all or nothing where they were running the cars full bore? The show was tracking them the whole time, so if they sandbagged, they were gone. I believe out of all the cars shown, the only import was a Nissian. I thought I got a glimpse of one 1g eclipse, but it lost to some 80's mustang. Pinks really needs to go away from the domestic drag cars and get into some import racing. I am sure they have plans for the future, they'll just switch to bring up the ratings when they drop. Maybe we should all email them and tell them to get going! I am sure if they get about 500 emails my dsm people they might change thier mind.... if we are lucky...Haha.

First I don't think anyone on the show acually loses his car. I heard that before they race they stipulate that the loser can buy his car back for like a hundred bucks or something, maybe someone can confirm this? Second, I agree with what was said before about giving lengths and sandbagging. Pinks is not about who has the faster car, it is about who is the better gambler. Think of it like a poker game, the person who gets the better hand doesn't always win, sometimes they get bluffed and fold. Same thing on Pinks, sometimes a guy gets bluffed and gives up too many lengths.

Sandbagging is the same as bluffing and still gambling.
By telling somone they can't sandbag is the same as telling poker player to show all his cards as soon as he gets them. In that scenario it would be called unfair or unjust.
Anyone can find a scenario in a race they call unfair. I look at it the same as poker. If you want ot win you have to deal with the odds. If your afraid of losing, step down.
If the race is for my car I will gladly decline.
