i just got done painting my interior looks great. the problem is it keeps chiping a little in random spots. did or does anyone have this problem and can tell me what i did wrong.

Re: my fault

ok, i painted mine too, i used lots of little coats, as in 9 or 10. i then used 5 small coats of clear coat. the stuff works great. even be4 i used the clear coat though, it didnt chip, so maybe u need a better paint. good luck

paint chipping

First off you needed to begin by scuffing your parts good with a scotch bright pad. Then whip them LIGHTLY with naptha or nail polish remover. Watch out if layed on to heavy or left on to long they can damage plastic. That will take car of any armor all or other residues on your parts. Then a good coat of primer fallowed by your color coat. I didnt clear mine and its been over a year of daily us without chipping. Also be sure to use a good paint oem touch up spray I found to be the the best.

yea well i used rubbing alchol on the parts. Then sprayed a primer and sanded that .Then sprayed on my paint then a clear coat. Not all of it chips only certain spots. So i think i may just sand those down and repaint those spots, but luckly they are hidden.

NO NO NO. do not sand down the spots and repaint, trust me, it will look tarrible.(i know) what you should do is take a real gritty paper and sand it all down so its even, smooth it out with a fine sand paper, and repaint it.

Chipping paint....

I've seen stuff at Autozone, called Bulldog, or something similar to that. It's supposed to be a paint adhesive that you spray before your primer or paint. I'm not sure if it actually work, and if so..how well. But it claims to work on all plastics, vinyls, glas, etc. You may want to check it out.

That's what we're here for.

No problem man, I hope it turns out the way you want it. I painted my dash cluster bezel today, I'll take a pic of it tommorow and post it to show how it comes out. I didnt use any adhesive on it, I just cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, and let it dry. Then I sprayed a light coat of white engine enamel over it, not enough to cover the black at all. Just enough to lighten it up a little. Then I sprayed about 10 very LIGHT coats of Metalic Chrome on it. I think it turned out pretty damn good, but it probably could have been even better if I would have taken more time with it. When it comes to painting, patience is the key.

Good Luck!
