No, not at all. OBX is just a cheap ebay brand. Some things you can live with that are not too important but mostly no, it's all crap.

No, headers are not OK. From the heat they will warp or sag like crazy. In a very short time they will be a different shape, to give you a general idea. You get what you pay for and in this case you will get nothing! Stay away from those headers.

DOn't you get it??? If you spend $200 on something you are going to get exactly $200's worth, which in terms of headers is just a piece of crap. You can NOT get decent headers for $200 if you want them to last. Either save up a bit more or don't put headers. If you want to put headers on your car just so you can tell your friends you have headers then you might as well make your own by using duck tape and some flexible duck tubing. (that's extreme exageration).
The sooner you understand that you get what you pay for the less money you are going to waste on useless crap. You are probably still going to go ahead and buy these headers so I don't think there is any point in this.

WTF is your problem, man why u got to be such an ass hole to me for?

I understand you "get what u pay for"
You dont think i already know that?
Iv went through lots of shit with that phrase. And guess what?
IV bought CHEAP shit insted of expensive. and its still as good as the expensive crap.

lets put it like this

Tylenol vs generic.

Tylenol = more money,

BUT if u take the to bottles .... OMG! the same STUFF is in their.
Maybe u should take a chill pill.. All i wanted to know if u can get headers for 200$, and as far as im conserned. Pacesetter seems to be in that budget, maybe im not as rich as u are to go and buy 500$ greedy headers?
KK? THANKS

Yeah, but that's medicine. These are car parts.

I'll put it down for the record: for the most part, ONE header (not multiple headers ;) ) in the price range of $200 will not last. I don't know from experience, but I've watched others do it and I've had my share of cheap car parts. When you say you're not rich enough, wait until you are. A header isn't something your car needs right now, so wait until you have the money to do it right the first time, rather than making a mistake on something cheaper and ending up buying the more expensive part in the end anyway.

There are some things on cars you can cut corners with, but most of the time the brand name parts are more expensive for a reason other then just the name.

Personally I wouldn't buy that PaceSetter header either, but that's just me.

+2.

Save up your money enough to buy a decent pair. Why spend $200 on headers that will more then likely mess up your car, causing you to spend $1000's of more dollars to fix your CHEAP mistake.

You cant half ass a Dsm, Even if it's n/t. These cars will fuck you over, so save up your money and do it right the first time to save you a hassle in the future.

Just wanted to add my $0.02

So which of you guys has actually had these products?Im guessing none because 95% of the people on this board are name brand whores. I agree that with SOME things you get what you pay for. However I disagree that quality is always based on price.Take the ssauto fmic.Cheap and extremly well put together.I have run the hell out of this intercooler and never had any problems.I also have run a bunch of obx stuff...exhausts, headers, cam gears, wires and NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES.DO your research assholes.Obx is not just a cheap ebay name.It is a legitment company that warrentys all of there products and are great to deal with. They have their own website so go check it out.
Geko, you just learned a valuable lesson here at dsmtalk. You can NEVER post asking about cheaper products becuase assholes will rip you apart for what they think is being stupid. The funny part is, is that pretty much no one that responds will have had any experiance with what you are looking at.They just live by the rule that more expensive=better. All you need to do is research the brand you are looking at.See what else they sell, see how long they have been in buisness, check out there warrenty...ect.I agree with the idea that some random named ebay prduct wouldnt be a good idea, but obx has been around for a while and make decent stuff at great price. I say go for it especially since it seems like you are on a budget and not looking for a 12 sec strip car.

Amen to that. Geko, when you say 'headers' do you mean a turbo manifold or a non turbo header? If you are only talking about an actual header, then i woudl say go for it. OBX/SSAC/STONE make damn good headers for the money, but their turbo manifolds i dunno if i would trust one, a ported 2g would be good enough. If any of you are going to try and tell me that the 'obx/ssac/stone headers are crap, i would LOVE to hear your opinion because i know of a helluva lotta cars that run them, they fit great, are put together nice, and make good power.

the weight of the turbo will help your shiny new manifold to crack real quick especially since a 6 year old welded it. :)

and their quality control is junk and you would likely get a flange that did not seat properly has happened to me once on my mr2 (but the dp worked great) and to a friend for his turbo mani.

Which brand?I have heard that ssautos welds suck but obx is a much bigger and reputable company than ssauto...

when you have a turbo car it is better to have a good quality manifold than a cheap one that is more likely to crack. but I bought a 50 dollar non turbo manifold off ebay and it holds up well up to this day since non turbo cars dont make as much heat to the manifolds as turbo cars

turbo=quality parts
non turbo=cheaper parts (obx)

just for the record its nt... And im going to turbo it. but that will be awhile since the kit is about 2 grand.... So, why not buy 200$ item... save gas.. and let it pay for itself... get 2grand convert it to turbo, and if the header is still in working condition, sell it to my buddy for 100$ considering hes got a nt talon So, for now. Ill just try obx...

Ill make a thread every month... up to 4 months. When 4 months hit. Ill say its reliable... IF he dies in 2 weeks. Ill say stay the fuck away.
Why not... maybe ill save us all money...

Still, i like greedy headers... but 500$....

Go for it if you want. I'm just saying that if it were me I wouldn't risk it. Branded things are thoroughly tested and proven, and if there's any defects there's probably some kind of warranty.

Not saying you can't have good results once in a while with cheaper stuff, but there's more of a chance it won't last as long as the more expensive parts.

OBX just looks shitty. Reguardless of how well it works....

welds are not supposed to look like they do on their items. You can spend $200 bucks for amazing headers...if you have an american car. You should spend $400 minimum for NA headers for an "import". Don't got the cheap route.
