I just installed a new motor in my gsx, I am able to hook a remote start switch up to the starter directly and the motor will turn over, however when I turn the key to the start position there are several clicks but no turning over. Help is greatly appreciated. Also, I have most of the pigtails hooked up but not all, surely a sensor pigtail would not keep it from turning over?

Hook up everything and go from there. Check your fuses and relays also. By hooking up directly to the starter you are bypassing everything else that is usually used to turn the engine over.

everything is hooked up minus a couple of pigtails, they are on the same lead that goes to the two sensors on the thermostat housing and to the tranny. I doubt these would keep the starter from getting power. I checked the ignition switch fuse and it is not blown. I turn the key from the on position to the start position and I hear click-click-click and then the fuel pump pulse and then nothing else happens. when I used the remote switch I hooked into the hot at the starter and the smaller lead the goes to the top prong on the starter.
