1995 eagle talon tsi fwd automatic:

Hey Heres the scoop i pulled over to put gas, i didnt put 93 octane i put 89 i believe, the one right below 93...so w.e i was driving and somewhere along the way i noticed a power loss, then when i was driving down the highwayi noticed my RPM wasnt rising above 2800....and when i tried to accel i heard a sound that sounded something like a like a food processor, so im like wtf right....so i keep goin slowly....till i get to my house 2 min later...i pull over i notice i had a leak in my air intake pipe...so i tightened the screw to tighten the clamp....so i go start the car and go around the block....this time it squeaked when it got to 3000rpm...so wtf...i pull over to park and i here my engine as if something is tapping inside as if it were a piston/valve...
P.s: running stock boost w/tune....
 
He said he is running stock boost. Your probably experiencing knock because you didn't get high enough octane gas. Correct me if i'm wrong. For the intake thing, I don't know.
 
Is this tapping noise coming from directly under the valve cover? (lifter tick)
Does it sound like a bunch of marbles moving around in a can? (rod knock)
I would do a compression and boost leak test to be on the safe side. Changing your filter and plugs and oil wont hurt you either.

hmm ok...but you know that sound when a piston locks up...thats exactly what it sounded like on the high way i was like wtf....but tis a steady harmonic knock under the valve cover like cluck cluck cluck @ 1.4s intervals....i dunno

stock boost...i have a feelin it might be one of my piston rings and the problem got worse because 2 weeks ago i had a shitty mbc controller that had me running 28PSi on a T-25 for about and hr till i realized....and since then i noticed a very little power loss...then last night it just all got fucked up..

actually more like marbles ina bottle... took it to the dealer and they said that it was an internal problem with the engine either with the lifters....or inside inside...not sure they said come back tomorrow...

nope...but the funny thing is the engine wont pass 2900rpm...wtf...

Yea i told the shit ass mechanic to run a compression he said tomrorow...im like wtf ? i dont have the tools so i cant do it...lol.. but wtf i dunno i really hope it isnt something wrong with the engine inside...

The labor you are paying the mechanic can probably buy you 5 compression testers.:banana:

yea i didnt pay his ass shit....even for the lift because he didnt do squat...he told me something i already knew....but do u think this might just be cuz of knock...because im running 89octane....i mean do you think this could be causing all that bs ?

I think it's mechanical, I would open the valve cover and make sure nothing is loose, check the timing marks then perform a compression test.

i would love to open the valve cover...but do you think the gasket would get messed up if i do ? i just put it in last month i think...

well not really over tighten but i put silicon...tomorrow im gonna take it to my friends shop... i doubt its something horrible man i mean stock boost ? lol wtf the most it could be is a dammaged piston ring, bad lifters...and maybe some other stuff but its not like my block is gone...is it ?
