Ha, nah man....FP2's have some insane top end, I on the otherhand am trying to max out this 16g...

16g's have better top end than a 14b (obviously), but they will probably make most power in the midrange....I figure with an FP1 intake cam and a FP2 exhaust cam I am getting the best of both worlds and I will see the difference thruoughout the entire powerband, instead of just a Giant shift in power....

I guess we'll find out
Why do I get the feeling that you didn't talk to FP about this? Running 2 diff. cams is so 1999. You are only costing yourself power, trust me. Send the FP1 back, and get the FP2 matching cam.

Dont see how it could be costing myself power (?)....264/272 is still a proven setup if I remember correctly....

So are stock cams...to a point. With time comes technology and experience. NOBODY runs 2 diff. cams anymore. If you want to cost yourself some power, stick with the mismatched cams. If you want to get the most of your setup, get matching cams.

My friend complained about the top end powerband of the FP2s being too much for his SCM61!! I am not so sure I will like it on a 16g....

Old technology, perhaps, but people still swear by the 264/272 combo...I have even been recommended the FP1 intake / FP cam 2 exhaust as a healthy option for maxing out the EvoIII....

I guess only numbers and testing will prove me wrong (?)

DSMTALK thread, someone else who has ran the combo or thought it was a good idea...The idea to purchase it like this was mostly my idea tho....

I really don't see how the two in combination would rob power, I am sure it would not make as much power altogether as FP2's for i/e, but it will make much more power than stock throughout the powerband....On AMS's old school cam test, the 264/272 combo made more torque than the 272's, and similar power but just at different RPM's...

Tell that to the HUGE group of evo boys who run 272/264 combo. Couple years ago with my b16, I had the hks 264/272. I had awesome mid range, though I didn't dyno, I ran a best of 12.2 with a chip and safc tune.

Mod to your driving style, not others.

he doesn't need all that cam to max out his 16G, it will still idle relatively smooth and he will have a big gain through out his whole powerband. if he was going with a 50 trim or 30R i would agree with you, but he has a 16G
