hi i have a 91 gsx and want to tune big, but have a few dillemmas.

here is my setup, i am following basicly bushurs setup and want to know if it is possible to hit anywhere in the 11's.

fresh fully rebuilt motor w/p balance shaft.
evo 16g turbo
2nd gen exhaust manifold/evo manifold (which one is better?)
s-afc controller
550cc injectors (will this be efficient enough?)
FMIC
walbro fuel pump 255hp
act 2100 or 2600 clutch (dont know which one to get yet)
dattalogger
manual boost controller
100 octane race gas (sonoco)
magnacore 10mm wires
20-22 psi boost pressure
3gen wheels with nitto tires
k&n air filter
full 3inch exhaust
no A/C
no balance shaft

i wanted to basicly know if 550cc injectors are efficient enough, cuase i been hearing that it will be and from some that it wont. i also heard that with the s-afc that 650cc is the max that it can handle. whats the story if anyone knows?...

i also wanted to know if act 2600 really is the best way to go?... i have seen some people hitting 11's with the 2100 kit but i was not sure if its really worth it to get the next step up...

i basicly got tips from the burchur website and also the set ups of a list of dsm tuners at http://www.buschurracing.com/dsm-stage0.htm, also http://www.dragtimes.com/Mitsubishi--Eclipse-Drag-Racing.html

i hope i am heading in the right direction, any help or experience would be greatly appreciated. i basicly have my heart set on 11's but im going in blindfolded with just examples of others and what there setup is.

either manifold would be enough to go 11s,the 2600 would be necessary, but requires more driving skill to launch properly to 1.6-1.7 60fts without breaking parts, the 550s would be pushing it-650s would be better suited-get a AFPR,run a 2G MAS,i'd recommend an aftermarket flywheel for 11s safely, run no cat with C16 gas-with a lightened car and seat time, that should be enough to crack 11s with a lot of practice

i have pretty much all of those same mods,i currently have a B16G(shaft play, but still strong)and 550's on a 151k stock motor w/ good compression, full weight,272 cams on (back)order,by fall im going to run a E3 16G,swap to 650s and C16,and see how close i can come to 11s

i just found out that i could also get a dsmlink for 400 bucks. will this setup be better to get?.. i wanted full interior if possible but lightened flywheel is somethin that im also looking into.. thanks for the tip so far.. anyone have any doubts please list as to why, and what i can do it hit my goal.. i live around a town that boasts to much about honda and vtec. i want to daybiew my gsx and show them up.. i am sick of these hondas thinking they rule everything.. any other tips or mods that i need, please list, i have practiced and researched on best ways to launch the car and i am pretty decent at that part. other than take offs, any more suggestions?... thanks...

i have the eprom ecu already.. made sure... thanks for reminding me though... any suggestions on tuning?... and with what everyone sees with my setup... are u all confident in elevens?... i know i can guarantee 12 sec. but 11's im wishing... am i expecting too much?...

mess with the afc first-pocketlogger and wideband use will make tuning easy, when you get nice with that-upgrade to link
BTW,the best way is to run 13s first, then 12's,then 11's-then theyre a solid chance youll need to get your trans rebuilt, because 1 bad launch with an ACT2600 will cost you a center diff

dsmlink is actually very user friendly. Their forum is extremely helpful (so I hear). When you buy it, make sure to transfer it over to your name. THen you can access the forums at dsmlink.com, and the people on there can help you out a lot.

As far as your setup goes, nothing can really be guaranteed. Depends on the driver, weight of the car, tires, suspension, and a hell of a lot more. You should be right about where you hope to be though. If you want to make sure of it however, sell the e16g and pick up something like a 50 trim, and bigger injectors.

thats the easy way-but stock transmissions dont last long in 11sec cars unless your an experienced driver and its in good shape
also 11 sec ideas might want to consider 4bolt rear, not neccesity just yet,but comforting knowing you have it with that power

not to shit on the thread but this is an easy topic thats been talked about a million times, and theres no EASY way,you can pick the right parts but things will always come up that werent in the plans-mostly broken parts, replacement parts-you'd have to get to the track, get experience, and spend an hour a day on here mostly hitting the search key-and honestly, building an 11 second car,you should do most of the work yourself, because your going to want to know the car inside and out, diagnosing problems is one of the most important parts of building a tuner car,and you cant run to a tuning shop every time something doesnt sound right, because it will get expensive fast

I agree with projecTSI here 100%.
Being able to SEE what you're doing in real time with DSMlink.
Is alot easier than trying to piece it together with an AFC & Logger.

Not to mention the ability of full timing control, any inj you want...
etc. The benefits are tremdously stacked against an afc.
For $400? You didn't buy it yet?
Are you retarded?

YOU WILL NEED this level of control to push every last drop
out of your slightly weak setup. You are on the very edge of
the realm of achieving your goal. This might be the hair you
need to get that 11 second slip.

im in no way against link-but its easier to go that way if you already have eprom-at this point for me,its a 6-700 mod after finding an eprom and hoping its good, and after just shelling out 1500 for TRE a trans and another 600 for parts related to switching the trans,im spent-i will keep my eyes peeled because the AFC is somewhat of a caveman tool-but the AFC has been tuning 12 and 11 second cars for close to 10 years now

DSMlink does not take long to get used to i have been tuning myself for about two days. If you just take your time and look over your logs and have a small understanding of timing, knock, and afr you will be on the right track.

If this is the setup you already own, then yes you can hit 11s with ease and if you dont you need to evaluate your tuning/driving.

If you plan on buying this setup, there is some stuff you should probaly change.
