MBC is removed, im not an idiot. MBC was hooked up at the wg actuator. I only said bov line because if there is a leak there it will have infinite boost.

I found one vacuum line loose at the intake mani to the FP regulator which may have been causing some of my knock issues. I just fixed that.

I reinstalled my MBC and I am about to go test it. I will reply later.

Jay, I wasn't calling you an idiot, just making sure you're using the BOV line as your boost reference for your mbc or wastegate.

Im not using the bov line to see boost. I know you didnt call me an idiot I was just messing around. I have the boost guage tee'ed into the line that goes from mani to FP regulator.

I checked all vacuum lines and they are good. Still get infinite boost. How can I check the wastegate is working properly.

I feel like there is a generation gap here:D , I was not talking about your boost gauge, just tell me if your mbc is connected to the BOV line!!!!

No its not. LOL. Its hooked up through the wastegate line with small amount of vacuum line. The BOV line is untouched. Then I have the boost tapped at the FP vacuum line. I have no other lines.

Now I usually hold boost fine. I was logging the day before I unbolted the downpipe and was holding 11psi with mbc hooked up.

I didnt check the line that goes from the actuator to mbc because I just replaced it about a week ago and to check it I need to take off my intake because its real close to it. Im going to do that tomorrow, it was raining when I did the other stuff.

Jay, are you saying you have a line from the FPR line to the MBC, then a line from MBC to the wastegate? If so, that would be as bad, if not worse, as tapping the BOV line. I know how you can troubleshoot your infinite boost but that is the least of your problem right now, I think I may have discovered the cause of your knocking problem that you've been having. Please tell me the input line going to the mbc is a dedicated line (hopefully coming from either compressor housing or J-pipe) and not tapped off any lines that are used for any important device such as BOV, FPR, brake booster.......etc. Let's get this confussion cleared up so we can move on to your infinite boost problem.

OK OK OK, Im just confusing you now.

Im going to seperate all my vaccum lines since there are only three.

1. Jpipe----mbc----actuator

2. BOV----intake mani

3. Other port on intake mani-----tee fitting that tees to FPR and then too Boost gauge.

4. Back of intake mani------brake booster.

I do have 4 lines.

Good, I though we talked about this at tuners long time ago. :D

Back to the boost problem. How was the actuator hooked up if the MBC was not in the picture when you got the infinite boost?

I just hooked the vacuum line from the actuator to the jpipe. Real snug fit so I dont think it was leaking.
That doesn't make sense at all!!! You should be boosting 12psi and maybe creep but definitely not infinite boost unless your actuator suddenly went dead causing the flapper to never open. Test again tomorrow but tripple check everything before the run.

Ok so I removed my crap designed dejon intake to check that vaccuum line. And it had a rip because it push's up against the intake and it slowly ripped it.

I hate this intake but I need it when I install my Long route piping for my FMIC. The other dejon intakes are perfect but this one is a little off. The shifter cables all most hit it, and the bungs for the valve cover and charcoal canister are in the wrong spot so the lines run right on the shifter cables.

Slowly and carefully bend the actuator fitting away from the pipe, I had to do that on my old 16g setup with a 3" intake pipe. Glad you found your problem.
Yea why didnt I think of that. I just reinstalled everything. I hope it holds up if not I will do what you said. Thanks again.

Now Im mad that I was knocking like a mad man for a whole day. I never got on it hard enough where fuel cut or anything happened but damn I caused some damage.

I am getting the same problem. Now I know this is a stupid question, but what you say Jpipe to the MBC and then to the Actuator, where is the Jpipe located? I want to try this setup before getting an external wastegate.

Since were on the subject of external wastegates, are external wastegates just bolt ons? I dont' know need do no custome cuttings to anything?

I have been doing a lot of searching to.

Thanks

IF you have a 14b turbo or 16g the j-pipe is what comes off the turbo. You might have to thread a 1/8npt fitting in there to run your vacuum line from your mbc. If your on the stock t-25 "2g" then you dont have a j-pipe, but there is a nipple on the compressor cover that you can use.

As far as the external wastegate, you need something to mount it on. Manifold being the best choice but you can also run it off you 02 housing. Wether you use a dump tube to the atmosphere or use a re routed back to your exhaust 02 housing is up to you.

Thanks, I tried threading it before I read this reply and it works, thanks anyways :)
