Question about turbo

My sisters boyfriend blew his talon, as iv said before. I went over their and looked at what hes done to it. The engine is COMPLETELY taken apart, its a 4g63

He said he would give me any part i wanted to turbo my car and help me install it. So i was wondering if all i really needed was a 420a turbo mani, oil lines and some guages, hes even got the intercooler.

Just wanting to get it boosted for a lil extra horses ;) Not going to boost over 5 to be safe until i do the pistons/rods ect..

His crank wall walked so his pistons are S H O T, i tryed to move the piston and you cant even budget it off the rod... its really f'd up.

I doubt that was crank walk. Alot of people screw stuff up and blame it on that. You will need a little more than just those things to turbo your car. Do a little searching and you will find what you need. As for only boosting 5 psi, for that you are going to need a different wastegate than what is on the turbo now.

I didnt know that Crankwalk meant the Pistons won't move on the Rods? :wall:


People, Please search, 420A turbo'd questions have already been asked before and have been talked about. You'll find threads on it.

turbo your 420 to gain 30-50 hp = $800

Sell your car and buy his and fix it = $0

The ability and willingness to SEARCH = PRICELESS

GeKo - just so you know I was not saying that you need to search. Your post has nothing to do with not searching for an answer. As I was typing my response it just started to look like a "priceless" commercial so I went with it. But the fact is that the $800 it will take to make you this small amount of hp might not be as worth it as selling your car, buying his and fixing his. Heck you might even be able to add more power to his in the process and have even more then what you will get by turboing yours.

he wants 1500$ for his car.. if i sell mine for atleast 3? (150k miles) and buy an engine then drop it in... hmm maybe it would be easier.. cus my sister wants an eclipse :p ugh, ill have to rethink my ideas lol..

yea, i say do that, you can get an engine for 1500, and if you put it in yourself youll save some extra money, and im pretty sure you'd be alot happier with the 4g63, also it would be alot less work than trying to turbo the 420a and risk blowing the motor.
