I have a 96' RS, lowered (crappy E-bay springs), Cold Air Intake, Headers, Cat-Back Exhuast, Upper strut tower bars (front and rear), Lower rear sturt bar, Bucket seats with 3 point harness(great deal from a friend and couldn't pass it up). What's next? I'm not looking for a 10 sec car with this. Anybody have any advice on what to buy next? Or anyone have good lowering springs they wanna sell?

High compression pistons, race fuel, nitrous oxide.

In all seriousness - nothing else you will add will give you that much power. I don't have ANY idea of how the 420a handles nitrous, but if you want power gain on a non-turbo engine, that is the way to go.

I would put a more reliable, safer and quality suspension on there - including shocks and a good alignment and call it a day. Enjoy driving it - if you still think it isn't fast enough, then sell it and go turbo.

Sorry if this is everything you've heard a million times and are sick of it.

You can't ask us what to do, that's like having someone else pick a girl out for you based on what they like. You gotta decide where you want the car to end up. If you don't have wheels already, I'd get some along with a new suspension. After that you gotta decide if you wanna go turbo or stay n/a

I agree with all of this......Get a safer suspension (which may also improve your 1/4 mile time)

I would also look into some poly motor mounts and if you really want to increase your 1/4 mile start considering some added weight reduction. Overall id consider keeping the n/t a nicereliable daily and pick up a cheap 1g awd as a race project if you really want to go fast.

I feel ya. I just bought Megan Racing lowering springs. They should be coming in soon. I'll do a part review on them after I install and test them. Thanks for yalls input. I think I'm happy with where my car is. I do want a 1G AWD. I think they make a sweet little project. The first year they made them was 89 right? Hopefully with that I would get out of OBD1, I know ODB2 isn't on there. I wouldn't mind having a 1G RS and starting there and really making it MY car.

First and Foremost worry about running 14-15's before you worry about running 10's.

If you ran 10's im pretty sure you would be one of the fastest if not the fastest 420gAy. Most of the 2gnt set ups putting "down big" numbers are ones people have built and turbo'd so you might check that direction. If you havnet checked out www.2gnt.com yet id head over there as they are the leaders in the 2gnt area.

I know your right. When I got the car I was 14 an watchin The Fast and the Furious. I didn't know anything about the car but It looked good on the movie. i was the most ricy little ricer ever. I've learned that it makes a damn good daily driver thou. I'm tryin to make a twin turbo 1980 Small block Camaro. I really want any car I have in the future to handle like this Eclipse. I love it. It's low and sticks to any turn I've asked it to so far. I know it aint the fastest thing but I love making fun of the Mustangs and Camaros in town when they follow me out of town. We get on the really curvy road and it all over. Straight out they stomp me really bad, but the curvs are mine. I'm such a little ricer aint I. LOL I'm still learning.

its way easier to get to the 10sec mark in a 1 or 2 awd than it would be a rs. the rs if boosted makes for a good highway car but thats it. this is coming from a owner of a 98 rs, so im not one of the "sell it, and buy one thats already turbo" guys. if your going the fast 1/4 mile route. i would go with awd and 4g63

Lets not get to much on his case....in his oringinal post he said he wasnt looking/expecting to make it a 10 sec car, and is just looking for anything to make it a little faster. At least he isnt coming on here to ask i want a 9 sec car for $5k what do i buy first....at least he admits it will never be a 1o sec car and just wants some ideas to make it a little faster.

For christ sakes guys, read what he said, he isn't looking for a 10 second setup.
haha oops was really tired yesterday when reading the original post and thought he wanted 10's my bad.

get some better springs, and see what that does for your handling. i have ractive coilovers, and tociko 5 way struts. good combo but i dont like the springs. im thinking about the pro kit or tein springs.

LOL yall are silly. It'a all good and great. If i could get my hands on a 1G GSX or TSi I would try for the 10 second car. I was just wondering about what other UNDER $100 upgrade I could bolt in. The Megan Racing Lowering springs are on the way and should be here Tuseday. I'm still savin for decent shocks.

What's next is save up for a gs-t or x and keep your 420a for a dd.

Why you can make a GS go as fast as a GS-T.

For 100$ uppgrades, try pulley set, ingnition, better spark plugs and bigger wires, etc... Now if you want to go as fast as a GS-T you need to build your block and head up to stage II which would be aorund 4K. You would have a new engine though, not some ragged out GS-t that someone wanted to git rid of.

I like GS-t's but you dont need one to go as fast as you want to. I had a 3G premium packaged GT w/ a 6g72 5spd and there were 3G 4G64's that went faster than modded 6g72's, so i know all about this. It just requires a smart builder and knowing how to maintain your ride.

Are you a ricer or what, that is about the most rediculous post in a long while. DON'T reccomend plugs and wires as a performance mod, and we don't do things in stages here.

Lmfao, quit smack talking over the net its useless. He said in the 100$ price range, so i was giving some parts in that range. We all know you can hardly buy sh-t for 100$ for performance. (WE) you dont speak for everyone, and yes buying a stage II block and head would be a smart idea for hp gains.

BTW when did i say performance in the last two posts, i just said upgrade fool.
