Its impossible. haha.

Sad thing is I'm serious. I ordered the same ones, ended up getting pushlock style hoses from a local shop (DSG).

Anyone else have experience installing them PLEASE lend your voice, because I had no clue how to put it on. Everytime I tried all that happend was the SS braids would come undone and make a mess out of the line.

Youre unscrewing the fitting right? Then working it in and then wrenching it on without having the SS line back out.

The key is to have NO frays at the end of the SS line by taping the line and cutting it with a cutoff wheel. If the company cut it and its really shitty (like mine was the first time) thats just shitty luck.

I used a hose clamp tightened on the end of the line (just enough to keep the frays under control, not enough you cant move it) to get the frays of the line tight, then worked the fitting around little by little. The key is patience.

Theres an article on tuners by the way.

lol i appriciate that but my stock shit is out and im not putting it back in.....Hence i need to get this shit now...

What im doing is unscrewing it, putting the ss into the one piece and screwing the threads into the other piece but its pushing the ss hose back out, i tried everything but i cant get it to stay.

I tried my best to get it on and I had no luck whatsoever. The method absolute dsm said sounds like it might be helpful.

One thing I tried that allmost made it to stay on was to use a small sanding bit on a dremel and remove some excess material inside the hose. I think this method along with the small hose clamp might work. Try it out, if it doesnt order up some push lock style hose's. Very easy to install. Here is a picture of the pushlock style

Here is a picture of the ss hose that frayed to crap on me that I ended up not using.

-6 lines are a pain sometimes. Here's a trick I learned from a local DSMer. Tape the end and cut to length. Take 2 hose clamps and put them on the end that your are trying to put the fittings on. One clamp should be overhanging the edge. Put the clamps on tight. Put the assembly in the freezer for about 15 minutes. This will allow the rubber inside to shrink. Take it out of the freezer, take the tape off quick, and put the AN fitting on. Simple.
I pulled this out of another thread I found searching when I was doing mine. This method worked great. I also put a small bit of grease inside the end of the hose prior to screwing the fitting together.

wrap it up in black tape, use a high speed cut off wheel.
take off the tap, unscrew the fitting and put some oil or multi purpose lube on the hose.
push it in, turn counter-clockwise (a guy at work says it works better)
if need to, put a rag over the end and bang it on the floor.

I actually have a tool that will do this, and I can do a fitting in about a minute of 2.

if you seriously want to, make how long you want everything and send it to me. pay shipping both ways and give me...umm $5 and i'll do it.

Already offered him that for free. :p

And yes you need to bang it on the floor or shop bench to have it seat ALL the way to the bottom of the fitting. Also, if you cant get it to slide on very well, you can lubricate the fitting and slide the hose on easier.

Mac, If your looks like that picture of the frayed hose up there, stop trying. That is WAY too screwed up. It needs to be a clean cut. I use SS hose @ work all the time and it can be a pain and prick your fingers a lot, but it does work.

You don't have to buy new shit, but you are going to need to cut it off (semi) clean. Get a pneumatic cut-off tool, or a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder. You probably could just do it with some small cutters and clean it up perfectly if you had a lot of time on your hands. Your car is testing your patience don't let it win! :p

Now you all say to buy push lock hose.....does that work with my current fittings......? and does autozone/advanced sell it?
you should be using barbed fittings (of some sort). If they arent fancy "push-lock," Just make sure you use a hose clamp.

Bad, Bad advice.. You can't just clamp on a hose to a barbed fitting when it has gasoline at over 70psi running through it.. You must use pushlock or the SS an fittings...

lol hes probably right, I was thinking on the back side of the regulator for some reason:confused: Even so, your not going to loose a hose. Pushlock hoses dont need clamps and are pretty idiot proof. Thats why they are what they are, not for amazing pressure capabilities.

im not sure what branch of the service your in, but i know that most bases that have helicopters have the ablity to make these lines. therefore id check the hangers and see if any of the mechs are willing to give you a hand. hope this helps

They are possible so don't give up! When I do mine I make a single wrap of electrical tape around the line then cut it with a cut off wheel. Then I trim the tap so that it only extends like 1/8" from the cut end. This will hold the SS down while still allowing it to slide into the fitting. Then I clamp the nut half of the fitting into the vice clamps(the aluminum non-marking ones) and twist the hose into the fitting. Then be sure to lubricate the hose and wrap a piece of tape at the base of the fitting you just slide the hose into. Leave that portion clamped and thread the other portion of the fitting in with an AN wrench. Now check to make sure thre is not any excessive gap between the fitting and the tape that was applied. Good Luck!
