So me and my brother were bored right now and we decided to race our cars. We both started in 2nd at 20mph, at first he gave me a head start and I pulled on him 1 car lengths until 3rd and then he crept by, and by 4th he had 2 cars on me until we shut down. The 2nd race he didn't give me any head starts and the same 2nd gear at 20mph, the STi kept pulling and pulling like crazy until he stopped at 70mph, he had like 4 car lengths and going. The STi only has an exhaust and I have TBE/Filter/ACT 2100/FMIC w/ short route piping/evo 9 fuel pump, more detailed in profile. Anyways, it was pretty fun while it lasted, I want to see how I hang when I up the boost, but I doubt it won't do anyting:( .

Also, are the shift points from a roll and from a dig the same, or should I bring my rpm's up a little higher on a roll?

you dont think turning the boost up will do anything, are you crazy. Just going up 2 or 3 lbs will make a difference. May not let you beat him, but it will make a difference.

He is still running the T25 so no matter what he will not make enough power to beat the STI. Flip - get a 16g and injectors/safc and then go run him again. Things will be very different.

Yeap those sti's are mean. You need a s-afc, data logger, and a mbc and give it another shot.
safc is on its way, getting a boost controller today and I still need a data logger :D . I plan on getting a 50 trim but I need to save up for it still, just trying to see what I can do with this t25, lol.

A 1g with a rewired pump, datalogger, safc, 550cc injectors, boost controller, and a boost gauge would take it. All that can be had for maybe 400$.
Wow 1g's are getting quite cheap these days. :D

Yeah, I would like to see what will happen when I up the boost and use the safc. Anybody got any tips on shift points? (t25)

Whenever it feels as if its not making any power, shift.. Because more than likely, its not making power..

Every car has a different powerband depending on the mods that you have. I would test run your car, pay close attention to the tach and find your strongest areas of your powerband. Once your power starts dropping off, it will only continue to drop, so you need to shift before this happens. A bc will help wonders. As mentioned, a few extra lbs of boost is huge!

Yeah the T-25 just won't do it, you should be in a way happy with the result. Stock turbo in a Sti (IHI VF-39) is about the size of a 16g, but with the added torque of the 2.5 liters.

Finally got my boost controller, set it @16psi and raced my brothers Evo IX MR. I'll post video's of the outcome on a new thread later tonight. I really need a new turbo, if you guys would like to donate some money, it would be really appreciated. :D

Yea, thats exactly what I'm running and I'm finding it runs pretty well against Subies. If they have any power mods whatsoever though I still get beat.

Nope. Many have tried against me.. all haave failed. :)
Haha, nice, but thats pretty cheap and its getting close.

You will stay with subies for sure if you got a 16g and the mods that go with it. At 20 psi on my 16g I stay exactly up with my homies stock evo 8 at 25 psi.... Isn't your car laggy as hell with that huge front mount with the t-25?
