? If your profile is correct and you have a fwd then you don't have a transfer case...

There is a problem with the seal in the transfer case. They will inspect the transfer case for undue wear caused by low tranny fluid if it has been leaking.

If the transfer case is in good shape, they won't replace it. They will replace the bad seal.

1995 EAGLE TALON Recall ID from NHTSA: 98V069002
Auto Recall Date: 19980407
Vehicle Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Estimated Vehicles Affected: 42214
1995 EAGLE TALON Defect Summary:
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. LOCKUP OF THE TRANSFER CASE CAN OCCUR DUE TO INSUFFICIENT LUBRICATION.
Defect Consequence:
THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLES FOR ADEQUACY OF THE TRANSFER CASE OIL VOLUME, TRANSFER CASE OIL LEAKAGE, AND OPERATIONAL DEGRADATION OF THE TRANSFER CASE MECHANISM. IF OIL VOLUME IS INSUFFICIENT, THE APPROPRIATE AMOUNT OF OIL WILL BE ADDED. IF THERE IS TRANSFER CASE OIL LEAKAGE, AFFECTED COMPONENTS WILL BE REPLACED. IF THE TRANSFER CASE SHOWS OPERATIONAL DEGRADATION, THE TRANSFER CASE WILL BE REPLACED.

FWD == no t-case... Stop arguing with everyone trying to help, your car does *NOT* have a t-case.

Problem solved.

Ya, just go to the dealership and get that xcase looked at. Might be leaking....

Just good luck finding that leak us awd ppl suffer between the yoke and xcase.

And with all the money you save from having them fix your imaginary xcase you can send me 200$ for the injectors I never received:mad:

daonlyillwiz go under your car and see if you have a driveshaft

I think the recall he posted is misleading because it says the affected component is the automatic transmission. The transfer case puts power to the rear wheels on the AWD cars. Therefore, you don't have one, so I don't think it's leaking. ;)

I need to get my car in for the recall. Problem is, once I get out to Norco I am stuck there until they are done with the car. My T-Case is leaking, as is my spare. maybe I should just bring them both in by themselves and say "Fix em!".

I just found this out as well, except when I take my my car to the two mitsu dealers here, they tell me the god damn part numbers on my transfer case and vin don't match up.. I didn't even know there were any part numbers on it, much less any to go with the VIN..

I don't know anyone with a 15yr old DSM that has the original Transfer Case in it..

Should I keep trying and complaining, or is it true that they technically do not have to do it because it's a different part.. I have a whole Evo III set up. Help guys.. this thing is takin' shit on me and I'm worried I'll get hurt or worse, hurt the car!
