because of his whole statement "That was fun… my work here is done… " he came off as a big shot that thinks he knows everything
I'm with you on this. I hate when poor information get spread as gospel. And I think his statement would reflect poorly on IPT if people are going to assume they stopped making a product because they (IPT) feel DSM guys are uneducated.

Well, it looks like maybe my work here isn’t done yet…

In case you didn’t notice the whole post was a general assumption/rant/joke…

I would also like to add that I personally think the people at IPT are great to deal with. They offer excellent products for our cars, and back them up with great product support and customer service. This would be the reason my transmission is full of IPT products…

Now if you don’t mind I would like to respond to a few of your comments…

Actually you are 100% WRONG
In all fairness I think the percentage is a little closer to 98% WRONG
Can you work with me on this one, and just give me the 2% correctness?

No, I do not think I’m a “Big Shot”
And I obviously know very little based on the previously mentioned 2% accuracy rating.

ass clowns like you
Ok, you got me on this one, I have been known to be a little “Ass Clownish” on occasion. *dances around shamelessly* go ass clown, it’s your birthday, go ass clown, it’s your birthday…

But seriously, lets put the sarcastic business related scenario aside for now. All of my other information is based on my personal experiences with the restalled 4k converter. I have been running the converter for about thirty thousand miles so far. I have done many mods during that time, and have seen how the converter responded to each one. I originally had an FPBig28 with stock cams, then went on to an FPGreen with the stock cams, and then finally added HKS 272’s. The bottom line is the converter acts differently depending on your set-up.

So does this make me some kind of expert? No, but the information is a hell of a lot more reliable then second hand, he said, she said type information. So take it for whatever it's worth.

I’m just an average dick like yourself who started out 1 ½ years ago to build a reliable, quick/fast automatic transmission daily driver. I did a fairly decent job, as the car is capable of eleven-second passes in street trim, and is staying together.

Hey, can’t you see we’re in the middle of an important argument?

Here’s a link to instructions for the end clutch replacement…

All,

Hey guys just wanted to give you a heads up that IPT is getting out of building the talon/eclipse torque converters. Spend a little while on the phone with John (the owner) and he says they getting to be more trouble then they are worth for them
I'm sorry that I didn't see this sooner.

We are certainly still making converters.

The only converter that we stopped making is the 9" 1G unit. Everything else is and always was available.

oh geez sorry i was assuming the only ones ppl were intrested in were the 9 inch 1g unit..........my bad guys i didn't realize that could be taken the wrong way. I thought it was pretty clear John was one of very few that actually "made" torque converts thier are tons of places to restall a stocker. I guess i just assumed due to the problems with the 1g the 2g would be the same problems
