It's true. My friend Will just bought his first car yesterday. A 1997 GSX. The car has a 6bolt engine with a blown headgasket. I offered to let him do it in my garage seens how his dad would have been pissed if he did it in his. Here are a few pics from last night. My car is on the left, Will's is on the right.

The reason I post a link instead of the actual picture, is because the 56k people would track me down and assrape me once they saw the size.

and yeah, I bought the car like that. Half sanded red spoiler, dif color bumpers, vinyl flames on the fenders, and a crappy ass $2.00 primer job. I had to go and find some junkyard wheels, cause the rims that came with it were all different styles. But for 400 dollars, seeing as how its AWD Turbo, you really can't complain. :p Especially when your a broke ass high school kid.

So yeah, tell him he's one lucky bastard. :p

Didn't mean to Thread Jack. XD

I love 1G's but for some reason I like the big winged, 2G body-styles.

(but as far as mine, that's what I plan on doing, once i stop being a broke ass college kid, I got big plans for it )

Woops ment to write his first DSM. He has been driving for a while. lol

Yah we can't wait to tear her down. Needs just a little bit of TLC and she should be good to go.

Ahh, the horrors of a pre-modded car!

How old is he, buying a HEAVILY MODDED 2g gsx as his first car?

Hopefully it is just a headgasket and not something more major...Good luck and AWESOME GARAGE! Just insane

Hahaha Thanks guys. Yah my garage is pretty fun to work in.

My friend did think of how buying a modded car would be somewhat of a challenge, but he was willing to accept it. As a bonus the car came with Tien SS coilovers, JMF intake manifold, Buschur COP, 6 bolt swap, DSMLink, and a few other goodies. The car is definitely in rough shape but even if it needs more work then just a headgasket my friend has a lot of plans for this thing. If that means a motor rebuild I think he is ready for the task.

Well we did a compression test on his motor yesterday. When the car was warm the readings read out 90 across the board. Oddly enough today when the motor was still rather cold the compression came up 120 across the boards.(yah I know that doesnt sound right:huh:) From there we set out to do a leak down test to further investigate. The motor was leaking about 30 % when the air regulator was set to 100psi we read 70psi. NOT GOOD. My friend had plans for tonight so we didn't get any work done besides that. Tomorrow we plan on pulling the head to really see what we are dealing with. Worst case scenario my friend will have a new reason to do the stroker build earlier than he planned.
