A 5 inch wide slick will hook ...I can get a 26x5x16 pair of slicks pretty cheap.Do you think they will benefit???I'm on stock tranny and stock axles...I figure with them being only 5 inches wide they wont break things and still give me better traction then a street tire or radial.Now i have probably 400+- horse on a scm61....880's,2600,fmic, you get it...What do ya think????

The traction will be there...the question is are you meaning for track or street?

Slicks and oil/water on the streets don't mix well. Suggest you go with some Toyo RA1, Yokohama Advan or some Nitto 555.
