Hey guys im getting my 1998 eclipse gst tuned monday. Just thought i would see what kind of numbers you guys think i will be able to pull on 18- 20 lb of boost. Just figured i would see how my car compares to the numbers you guys are putting down.

Mods
-Big 16g turbo
-190 evo fuel pump
-560 evo injectors
-Safc neo
-custom external dump o2 housing
-2.5 down pipe, 3" race cat followed by 3" all the way back no muffler
-Intake
-mbc
-Evo FMIC
-Evo 9 mr bov

thanks guys ill post up the numbers after the dyno.

Lets see, a stock evo makes like 240whp at 17lbs, i think? So you should make somewhere around 260-280whp. Man, I just noticed that you are evo'd out, wheres the evo 3 16g? :p

Lots a kids with a lot more money around me and they are all my friends so evo parts are extremely easy to get my hands on. I plan on swapping my maf for the evo maf that flows 30% more. The evo 3 16g is next, i have a less expensive turbo built by some company in California (according to previous owner who never installed). i hope i lay down around 300 to the wheels, we will see.

Will do, Im in deep negotiation with the tuners. They want $350 for a simply 550 injector afc tune and there is no way Im paying that much for a tune. I am just going to offer them what i am willing to spend show them everyone else's prices and hope to walk out of there for under 300 finished tuned at 18 - 20 lb

$350!! holy cow. our dyno tuners that tune off wideband charge like $100 an hour and will take approx 1-1.5 hours total to tune it. they will even hook up their own wideband to your car if you have access to it *extra o2 bung* in your exhaust/downpipe.

EDIT: I'm also missing both pinkies. That's why I can't use my shift keys. I know I should but I can't just bring myself to follow the rules.

Uhh..$350 for an SAFC tune...

Literally with your own wideband this could take an hour TOPS street tuning it, usually less

If you need tuning help, we here can give you some pointers and advice to help; this way, you will always have an up to date tune..

If you get it dyno-tuned once, think about what will happen with major weather changes, lower or higher boost, new upgrades down the road, etc

Whatever tho, Id say if they do it right, you can be looking at ~280-300whp, especially since this a fwd car...

I started dynoing this morning at 10:00 sharp. I hit around 260 wheel hp at 15lb of boost. My tune is pretty rich and I am not happy with it at all. He only set the high throttle settings on the afc so when I am at low throttle in a gear it feels like its laggy and not responsive. When boost kicks in hold on the thing grips and takes off. For $133 I dont think it was a bad deal just not what I expected out of a shop that works with Nascar.

Well when was the last time NASCAR used Safc's or turbo 4cyl's?

After paying a shop money, you should not be rewarded with a half ass tune, they should be hooking up a wideband and tuning for a steady 11.0 ish A/F on pump gas and know what they are doing....They should at least set base settings or your fuel setup for the low throttle tuning, and a real tuner should be logging the fuel trims to get everything perfect

Also, I dont understand why they only tuned for 15psi when that setup can easily support 20+lbs and make a great deal more power

B16gs really aren't even in their efficiency range until 17-18lbs
