Ok this might seem like a ricer question but does anyone know where I can get carbon fiber door handles for a 2G? I just got carbon fiber doors and the stock handles are gonna look like crap.. I found one guy selling a set on EBay for $130 but im not ready to buy them. I just want to know the availabilty for when I am ready to buy them.. Anyone got any ideas? TIA

With carbon, you gotta pay if you want to play. You could always wrap it with carbon vinyl! APC FTW!

Those doors must have cost a pretty penny. Do you know how much weight you saved, if any? I would paint the doors and get some aluminum or some other metal handels. Dont flame me, its not to be rice, but I locked my keys in my car once and had to call a locksmith. He got the passenger door unlocked, and I went to open it and tha damn handle broke off! I was like WTF, over!

Search, their out there. On the forums, google, etc. Just don't use ebay unless it's OEM from a dealership or someone private. Yes nothing from PartsDoctor. From what I've heard about them the OE handles on a 2g would last longer. I want to see what the CF doors look like I'm not sure if I would like them or not.

How's the quality of the doors anyway? Rolled edges, and nice finish? Any pics?

I agree with painted the doors. It will be a nice reduction in weight ... but i'm not a huge fan of a carboned out vehicle.

There is a company called redefined rides, I ordered my cast aluminum handles. All you gotta do is drill a total of four hole and install if you PM me and I'll post pictures. They look nice, They arent on the car but I can take a picture if y'all are interested. For the record I dont work with/for the company. But the guys name is jason and he is really good to work with.

I didnt buy my doors for the looks.. I bought them cause they weigh roughly 10lbs each as opposed to a stock 2g door which is like 50lbs with no window or lock mechanisms in it.. Ive got damn near $3000 in carbon fiber on this car all in the name of weight savings (Doors, Hatch, Hood, Sunroof Plug)..
Painting everything is out of the question for a couple of reasons.. 1.) Im not spending any more money on the looks of the car because ive got an 800whp goal i need to acheive. 2.) Car has custom paint on it and the company that did the job went out of buisness and they dont have anymore paint so I need to repaint the entire car if i want it done right and 3.) I like the way the carbon fiber is gonna look on the car cause the paint job I had done on it closely matches the carbon fiber..
The quality of the doors are amazing.. I got in on a group buy from GT Fabrications and I bought the doors for $1100 (regular price is $1500) and the hatch for $375 plus $180 shipping for both When I unwrapped them I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they were... Rolled edges nice finish everything you would expect from a top quality product.. I didnt get any pictures cause i forgot my camera and i had to wrap them back up and put em in storage until I can get my car back to NY so i can throw everything on.. Once they are on the car tho i will take pictures.. These things are bling!!
So uhhh back to my original question.. Anyone know where I can get the door handles? Without having to have them wrapped ?

+1 They are quality but it took forever for me to get my handles in. They definitely make the door feel more solid when you open them up.95GSX6bolt said:
I have mine polished not painted. I think they would look very nice accented on top of carbon fiber. Mine sits on top of a black car. On carbon fiber I could only see it looking better. Just my opinion.

+1 it took a while but he let me know every step of the way and as long as your patient you'll be fine. I have yet to install the whole handle. I have the handle together but not on the car because Im having the door handle frame painted to match the car and Im going to leave the door handles polished. I hope it looks alright. Red car, black headlights,Black tail lights,Black corner markers, Black Rims with POLISHED inner lip. So Im hoping that the handles look good. Hopefully by oct. The car will be painted and done. But The motor bought under the assumption that it had a good head. Doesnt have a good head so now I need to rebuild that let alone finish searching out the misc parts I need. Ugh.
