Update!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
No problem, at least now I can give one and not excuses :D

Friday night--came to my friend's place where the car was being painted at and spent about 5 hours or so (until 3am) wetsanding or putting small things here or there back together. Saturday I had to run around to buy some things in the morning but got back on the car around noon and worked until 10pm, or until the majority of the wetsanding and buffing was done. At this point my friend's involvement in the car was pretty much done. Now it was up to me to piece everything back together and try to have it somewhat presentable for today (Cystic Fibrosis Benefit Car Show that I was going to attend). Got the car back to my house around 11, talked to the girl a bit, and went back out to the garage and worked some more on it until about 2am. I woke up today at 7:30, worked from 8-11 putting back in the interior, cleaning it, bolting headlights and wheels back on, raising the coilovers, etc and I made it to the car show right in time at noon. Sure there's some buffing compound in the cracks I didn't get, sure the manufacturer stickers are still on the tires, and sure the top windshield trim piece isn't staying glued in place, but I made it.

I was hoping to post up pics with a new CF hood on the car but that won't be able to be picked up until 8/10 so here's what I've got for now:

In the morning, ready to leave

At my house afterwards, somewhat overcast as I think a storm was coming in shortly

Going over the car, there are a few spots that need to be touched up or redone that we ran into problems with. One was paint peeling up with the masking tape exposing the primer under neath. The other was caused from my wheel offset being too low along with the coilovers not set high enough when I was loading the car on the trailer. The tire ended up hitting the fender, bending it in some and cracking the paint. :( Not too too noticeable, or that hard to fix for that matter as the rest of the car can just be bagged while only that area is sprayed.

As of yesterday, this is a new product I had my boss Jim make for me that I'll be running on my rear bumper on each side of the license plate. Not sure when it'll go up on the JM Fab site, but probably within the week if not already.

So, the things still left to do on the car.......

-Install Derale fans and see that the coolant temps finally drop
-Dyno tuned on 93 so I can get some seat time on the car without 1)making breakable drivetrain power and 2)being overwhelmed from the severe jump of an 11 second car from 2 years ago to a possible 9 second power car with little track time between
-Install new clutch pedal assembly :ugh:
-Install power windows and remove the now broken (not sure how) manual windows I had put in at one time
-Glue metal strip inside front bumper cover so that it doesn't keep bowing where I cut it out
-Possibly weld rear trailing arms or make a solid bushing to weld in
-Alignment
-Possibly find one or two new parking lights to respray and install as the driver's side one on the car got scuffed up and I can't figure out when or how.
-and a few other little things I can't remember at the moment.

Hopefully I can get all of this done and have money and motivation to bring it to the shootout then.

Awwwwww, Thank you , Thank you. * brb changing pants *

.....

Anyways , I love the car and have followed it since you first posted...

But i have a Q.

May i make love to it ... please... i swear i will take it to dinner after ( or before :D )

Best fucking 1G build I've seen in years! One question How does she Run?
Still on a base cal file that's a bit rough when the car isn't warmed up yet, but it does run and drive. I haven't taken it that far because I'm unsure of how close the current cruising part of the tune is. Switching to the manual steering and metallic twin disc setup, along with my previous center diff spool makes turning not so fun anymore.

And no...... no making love to the car. She's my girl. ;)

Nice work Brent, hopefully I will see it in a few weeks.

Looking great Brent!
