I would race from a stand still. Didn't matter to me. AWD STI's and EVO's only had me until about 60 when i passed them.
Stop racing stock evos and STis then?

I agree with you when your talking about strictly speed, that the 4g63T is a good choice when there is a BUDGET in mind. As for the NSX, its a nice alternative for something else stylish, just too much $$ to make fast and a particular taste.
Are you serious? You drive a Supra, talk about dumping money to go fast? Looks and handling goes to the NSX hands down, if you want to be a dyno queen but still preform horribly at the track and on the courses go buy a supra.

The Celica owners will worship you. :dunno:

You obviously didn't read my post. Plus i live in FL, not to many twisty roads down here for your beloved NSX.

This is one of the most biased comments I have every heard. Sorry but Cobras>Supras, Shelbys>Supras, and the funny thing is I don't even like Mustangs.
First off the cobra is NOT nicer than the supra IMHO but that is my preference. It is a persons personal taste. As for the shelby that is a limited edition car, so you can't compare.

This is not better.... (it looks like a snow plow)

Like you said, a lot of time its all opinon. (excpet for 99VR4>*)

And I despise the NSX so be assured it is not precious to me, but as a whole it is a much better machine than a Supra.

Thats why I base arguments mainly on performance. It can't be denied.

supras, supras supra... wtf? thats all i see in this thread. We sound like if we own bunch of hondas with stock motors. We have one of the best motors out there. 4g63

many why should anyone even post on this thing if people just talk bull. My cousin's evo was trapping 116 and he raced a Auto Supra with similar mods. mbc, TBE, front mount and hard piping) the evo would pull him about the same. 1/2 to 1 car every time. Supra's bpu+ haul ass, they trap anywhere from 113-119ish. depends on driver of course. from the sounds of the guy with the gst who raced him, its sounds completly true. Good kill on a bad ass car.

OMG, if I was in the 25-35k price range a NSX would never come to mind.
seriously.. Im thinking E46 ///M3 SMG.. lol

Supra's freaking own...stock 6spd and stock engine into the 9's safely is more than amazing. They are built and look sexy as hell. People would actually take a DSM over a MKIV Supra??? I love my dsm, but come on...

If the whole entire world was a straight line I'd be nuts about the Supra or Viper or any other overly powered rear wheel car. Me, I don't find it entertaining to drive in a straight line except from a tuning standpoint. And, unless you are just one hell of a drift driver you can expect to see AWD's and FWD's all over you on a track, even if you do have 600+ whp. Such is why I tune a AWD DSM and is also why (if I had the cash) I'd go with an EVO or STI instead of some straight line king of a car.

I am a little late to be commenting on this but I hate to tell you a RWD can beat a AWD at any one thing if tuned just for that thing. It's just that most AWD cars do everything well. While once a RWD is setup for any one thing it may beat AWD at that thing but will suck at everything else.

For instance in road racing RWD can dominate AWD but then it sucks at drag racing, a RWD can beat a AWD in drag racing but then sucks at road racing etc. So on average AWD has the advantage but to say RWD cars can only go stright is crazy. Look at most any type of pro racing. There nearly all RWD.

Also some of you turn coat supra fan boy's should realise what a 4G63 could do if you dumped 35k into it. Honestly I dont hardly think the average person can! I mean shit maybe 20k but I dont hardly see how you can spend much more on the engine (not turbo setup saying the engine). And only god himself I would bet knows what it would be like or capible of.

I wouldn't pick my Eclipse over a Supra stock for stock. But the best bang for the buck is a 4g63t. Supra's costs 25-30k. With that much money you can choose from a 3000gt VR4, NSX, M3, STI, Evo, Corvette, 300zx, GTO, Mr2 Turbo, 240sx etc. etc.

WTF you kinda jumped around there, from an NSX to a 240SX.....Best bang for your buck is a DSM hands down. I'm not some rice boy who has watched fast and furious one too many times. I just absolutely MKIV Supras and everything about them. Are they expensive as hell...very, but like I said before, when you buy a car and for the most part don't have to worry about putting shit into the long block or upgrading the trans, to me that's amazing. IMO hands down that engine was the best ever produced from an everyday car company, when you pair that with a badass 6spd, and a sexy body I say you have one hell of a machine.

98 240sx w/ a rb25 nicely setup. I didn't mean stock 240. Yes, DSM hands down is the best bang for the buck. If you'd chose the Supra over any of those cars that's respectable. Everyone has a different opinion. I can't knock supra's they are beautiful cars, I personally wouldn't purchase one :)
