Right now my engine's bein' rebuilt. But I will try to get some pics of the rpm and speed when it's up and running. PLEASE BE ADVISED that now it will have a Fidanza flywheel and no balance shafts! Otherwise it's still stock fuel.

At the time of run, temp. was about 70 degrees. Highway was slightly bumpy but level. I was driving with my little 7 yr old brother. No one was around so I floored it. Thru 4th and 5th gear, the car slowly crawled thru the top of the speedometer. I expected, even hoped for 140. But the car pushed past and kept going. Right before 6900rpm, the speed read 153-154. I let off the gas cuz I ran out of road. What a rush it was!

GSXs have no speed limiter.

Good idea, especially with your 7 year old brother in the passenger seat =/

I've been nearly 200 on the road, so I'm one to talk, but doing it with a little kid is another story. Please be responsible.

So now this is Highway Safety Talk? Highways are dangerous at any speed. This road wasn't curvy and there was no wind and no traffic. Easy on the preaching.

Do as you will, but don't do those types of things with people who don't have the rational to tell you they don't want to do that. Or don't have the knowledge to realize how dangerous what they're doing really is. Your brother is 7 years old, he doesn't know it's not safe. Don't put his life at risk. It's one thing if you have a buddy who knows the consequences and chooses to take the similar risk, but your brother doesn't have that ability at 7.

good question!

No, it was maintenance. My dad and I changed the t-belt. We looked at the balance belt and deemed it worthy to go on. I know, I know. STUPID!! Always changed them togther!! Anyways, a week later b-belt snapped, hit t-belt and caused it to skip teeth and bang boom pow, there go the valves. Might as well rebuild at 120,000 miles, so I am.

I don't know what the big deal is. Wow you went 155 at 17psi and stock injectors. Do you want a cookie or a pat on the back. I mean what is so outragous about that. Enough road, enough mods and 155.

I wish I was that cool!!!!!!!!!:wall: :wall:

That's the whole enchilada! I didn't know it until I tried to look it up, but I guess somehow, someway, I had the perfect combo of atmosphere, environment, boost, and tune to reach that speed on STOCK INJECTORS. You're not stock are you?

Who gives a shit what you can top out at with miles of road, your still running 14s in the 1/4 mile even with a upgraded turbo,:wall: and yes I know your in the mountains, but still no one is impressed by that. Come back and talk about 155mph when your getting there in 8 seconds.

And would daddy be getting that motor rebuilt for you if he knew you were out cruising in the triple digits with your little brother? I hope school starts again soon there so you get off the streets.

I have a big T-28 on my car that is ported, and even at 15psi I run a little lean all day long. On my SAFC-II I can only squeeze just a couple extra percent out of the stock injectors. By the way, I'm on a stock fuel system as well.

I've hit 146 in my car at about 6 grand. There is NO way in hell your car is running rich.

0% chance.

None.

right you are. I got an egt ready to go in, plus intercooler, fuel pump, water temp., and soon to be injectors. But there's an answer here that I'm waiting to hear. Can you figure it out?

THAT YOU'RE RETARDED??

I promise your car is seconds away from detonating itself to pieces...

SAFC's can NOT read knock count, its an estimated value and it is false, if you are tuning based off knock on an SAFC II, get that spare block ready b/c this one is going fast

And you are NOT running Rich if you are @ 17psi on a T28 and stock fuel system...You are way too lean and without a wideband you can't prove me otherwise so don't tell me your o2v is telling you differently or your blinky light gauge is moving to the rich side

See ya in the engine tech section soon

If the whole point of this is to say you did it on race gas or nitrous or something, then COOL!!!!!!!1111!!11ONEONEONEWON

To quote a member here, "this thread sucks". I feel like my IQ has dropped, just by reading the OP's arguments.

The facts remain kids. The oxygen count is less up here, so less fuel is required to maintain safe air fuel ratios. That explains why I can fun 17psi on stock fuel system without fuel cut.

As for the top speed, I'm also looking for answers. I'm asking why it's not possible for the rest of you to reach that speed. Or why it's difficult.

I could....But Im not going to, thats my answer

BTW, the speedo is much less accurate at speeds that high...Just because it said 155 doesn't mean a radar gun would say the same....
