You are correct. You shouldn't need an aftermarket FPR at all with your setup, unless you have a giant fuel pump and are overrunning your stock FPR at idle. That's easy to check with a $10 mechanical gauge while the car's stopped and idling.
I would think, or hope, that with his setup, he's no longer on the stock pump. He should be able to get away with a 190 but not a 255, Link or not.

You'd be surprised how many people happen to overlook the fuel pump as an upgrade. Apparently they don't read DSMTalk enough.

I'm very curious how FPR overrun varies so much between cars as well. I have a 255HP, rewired with 8 gauge wire. I'm running the stock 1g turbo FPR, and stock feed/return lines. I don't see any hint of overrun, ever. I was surprised, and I even verified this with a mechanical fuel pressure gauge. I have a couple N/T FPRs that I was going to use to bump my base fuel pressure a bit, but apparently in my case, it's not necessary. I'm curious what the variable is that makes this different between cars.

Your case is very rare, I have done countless pump installs and never had no overrun, the only thing I can think of is a weak pump, leaky pump o-ring or clogged fuel filter. Besides that, your guess is as good as mine.

That's an excellent thought, actually. I hadn't thought to check the pump O-ring. I'll do that the next time I'm digging around in there. Thanks. :)
